Wheel Of Fortune host Pat Sajak is in the news for making a ridiculous tweet about global warming and climate change. Before I go on, here is what the tweet said:

I now believe global warming alarmists are unpatriotic racists knowingly misleading for their own ends. Good night.

The game show host has since gone on to sort of write off the comment, calling it parody. A few more tweets of his, to follow up the statement that received a LOT of attention and backlash went like this:

Sometimes it's fun to poke a stick in a hornets' nest just to hear the buzzing.

As most of you know, original Tweet was intended to parody the name-calling directed at climate skeptics. Hyperbole.

Man.. the host of Wheel of Fortune? I loved that show as a kid. What are you doing Sajak? I know, I know. It's just twitter and everyone has a right to say whatever they want and people shouldn't be so.. hyperbolic, as Sajak admitted to being. But, still.. you are a celebrity and you decided to basically mass text an idiotic comment like that in this day and age of instant news headlines? You unfortunately deserve all the backlash you are getting.

Think there is ANY way this was just 'parody'? Or is that just spin talk for someone getting caught saying something stupid, and trying to downplay it? Ann Coulter (and a good number of other Fox cronies) have since come out in defense of Sajak. I'm sorry Mr. Sajak. You just found yourself with some bad company. Like it or not, you are in the 'right wing spin zone' now. Marco Rubio's recent global warming denial comments no doubt don't help matters with this either, as its been making the news rounds as of late too. Global warming is real, and science and real world evidence proves that man is negatively effecting the environment. We should stop the "debate" and collectively figure out what to do. Can't believe that the Wheel of Fortune guy is on the wrong side of this one. Weird.

Sorry to say that this guy is a typical dumb ass; making money from a dumb game and just being host and doing every day exactly the same thing.
No wonder that his brain is totally frozen stiff. Must be a religeous Republican.

Pat Sajak is a dumb ass for saying what did via Tweeter, but I would wager that since he was born in Chicago, the odds are he is a Democrat, he also served in Viet Nam, but as a radio disk Jockey for the Armed forces radio.

Yes you may be right; however serving in Vietnam, does not say anything about character; neither disc jocky; It only shows very little real "world" education doing those jobs.

Just to set the record straight. Pat Sajak is a Republican. From Wikipedia:

"Sajak is an External Director of conservative publishing house Eagle Publishing[7] and is on the Board of Trustees at Hillsdale College in southern Michigan, currently as vice chairman. He has written for Human Events and served on the Board of Directors for the Claremont Institute a conservative think tank.

"Sajak is an active supporter of conservative political causes and has written a number of columns for the conservative magazine Human Events. According to NEWSMEAT, Sajak has donated over $17,000 to candidates and election committees, all associated with the Republican Party. Sajak is also a regular poster and podcast participant on the conservative blog ricochet.com."

Regarding the several columns he has written for Human Events.

    Human Events, Pat Sajak

He doesn't appear to be a right wing radical, and some of his columns are reasonable. But on Global Warming and racism, he sometimes couches his writing in sarcasm. Here is a sample of his columns:

Pat Sajak, Human Events: A Solution to Man-Made Global Warming

Pat Sajak, Human Events: Man-Made Global Warming: 10 Questions

Pat Sajak, Human Events: Gore Files Lawsuits Against Time

Pat Sajak, Human Events: Opposed to ObamaCare? Then You Must Be a Racist

Pat Sajak, Human Events: Here Come the Dimwits Again

In reading all of Sajak's columns I would say yes, his tweet was entirely in character. His attempt to call it as parody was not in character. It was a response to the pushback he is getting from viewers and sponsors scared that his ratings will go down.

I love the hypocrisy here. Complaining about Sajak when he says his comment about global warming alarmists was a joke, but not a peep about Charles Barkley when he makes a racist comment about whites and claims its a joke...

BTW, is the claim still that Carbon Dioxide traps the heat from escaping the Earth?

Hey, about a week ago, I heard a gigantic announcement (probably on TV News) that said "Obama is going to release a HUGE fantastic amazing announcement on Global Warming today, & will start a REAL discussion of solutions." (Well, I am paraphrasing it of course, & exaggerating it a bit) but WHAT HAPPENED? I am a news junkie, & if that important announcement ever came that day, I totally MISSED IT. And the next day & the next. It has been at least a WEEK now, & I STILL have not heard the Big Announcement. Did any of YOU hear it?

    EF,

Yesterdays newspaper an article from the Washington Post:

NEW EMISSIONS RULE FOR POWER PLANTS SAID TO GO 'OUTSIDE FENCE'

    The story by Juliet Eilperin

"With less than two weeks to go, the Environmental Protection Agency is readying a climate rule for existing power plants that requires steep carbon reductions while allowing states and companies broad flexibility in how they limit their overall greenhouse-gas emissions."

That may be what you are referring to, the dates could have changed, and I think the entire story would be on the Washington Post website, because it ran in my local paper yesterday. It sounds like it could be a big deal.

I've already heard radio ads saying this could increase electricity rates by 80%. Don't know how true that is.

Fox News, May 21, 2014: Republicans to cut funding from Obama's global warming agenda

"Republicans are looking to bar the Obama administration from using any of the funds appropriated for national defense to implement global warming policies.

"West Virginia Republican Rep. David McKinley will offer up an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) Wednesday afternoon that would prevent the White House from sending funds to “the U.S. Global Change Research Program National Climate Assessment, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s Fifth Assessment Report, the United Nation’s Agenda 21 sustainable development plan, or the May 2013 Technical Update of the Social Cost of Carbon for Regulatory Impact Analysis Under Executive Order 12866.”"

“Freedom Action strongly supports Representative David McKinley’s amendment to prevent federal taxpayer dollars being used by the Obama Administration to promote official global warming propaganda,” Myron Ebell, director of Freedom Action, told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “We hope this is only one of a long list of amendments that will block funding to implement such things as the EPA’s energy-rationing regulations, the Department of the Interior’s land-grab policies, and the Department of Energy’s loans-to-cronies programs.”

So whatever Obama is proposing in the future...the Koch funded Republicans will block funding. Follow the money.

That's the way Washington works...to repeat what Dutch and a few others have observed...

Pat Sajak has home sites at Saverna Park, MD and in Encino, CA. Since science is very clear on the impact on the earth from rising water and seismic activity, I thought it would be maybe note worthy identifying what Mr. Sajak is faced with threatening his property. Denial of Global Warming and/or Climate Change is just for the foolish until they experience the fear of loosing their property and life. I realize doomsday is not around soon, however, it has many Americans and people around the world starting to think, "what ifs". Sajak's property in Saverna Park, MD is near the water and the average sea level measurement for the entire area is only 68 feet above sea level. So, I would assume Sajak's property is closer to the sea level point less than 68 feet than the average of the area. Seismic activity is a concern for Saverna Park, MD, but not as prevalent and persistent as Encino, CA. Sajak's property in Encino, CA is 774 feet above sea level but it experiences earth quakes and most recently a registered 4.4. There is also the fire danger in most all California communities, which as it gets hotter, vegetation and trees get dryer, thus combustion is a real threat. I read where climate change can disturb the earth layer as contributing to seismic activity. So, Pat Sajak, may poke fun at climate change and even ridicule the politics and people behind informing the world on Global Warming, but he will one day be one of many that say, "damn, I was wrong.". By that time, the naysayers will be hiding and wondering how they are going to save their butts from extinction. It may already be late, which I read in many media reports by scientists and climate change proponents.

I agree, Pat Sajak knows only how to instruct models to change letters. We gave him a media blessing, which he enjoys. However, he cannot change the letters on climate change or Global Warming. Just another rich ignorant human being that doesn't realize he cannot buy his way out of a disaster.

If Pat Sajak has only two homes that would be surprising. They are probably not small, conservative, energy saving homes, but that would only be my guess. They are probably more in line with Al Gore's homes which are mansions and that's not even counting his travel on private jets and limos, and they may have THAT in common, as well.

    Carbon emissions, anyone?

Sajak has found his little niche, and that's OK, he's made his money doing a job a 3rd grader could do. Good for him. Now if only he could keep his mouth shut or at least back up his words.

The real hypocritical thing is that when he gets caught making remarks that are not "politically correct" he immediately claims that it's all a joke. Maybe so, but these famous celebrities very often tell us to "do as I say, not as I do".

Lot's of them talk the talk, not so many of them walk the walk.
