In the last couple weeks I've read several books, a couple of them concerning the changing climate, environment, speciation removation, and other factors of threat to our comfort and status and survival on the earth. (such trivia compared to gasoline prices).
On title, "Field Notes from Catastrophe".
The second (which I read first, not that that makes any difference to you) "The Sixth Extinction".
The highest level scientific consensus of mutli-national research and study concludes that things are heating up, melting down, thus to rise up (sea levels) and dry up (water resources which significantly derive from glacial meltwaters) and other such trivial annoyances.
The "Conservative" (truly an environmental-antonym) stance is that since there's question to what extent human activity (such as emissions) is involved, the probability is that the "Lib-tard" are using this data as "scare-tactic" to push through legislation to allow the Obama administration to become the regimentation and dictatorship of private energy enterprise and policy.
Even if that be involved, give that "natural climatic variation" is taking place -- and that what man is doing, though not absolutely causal is surely contrbutant addend . . . . . . then perhaps it's a damned good thing if the government does provide a "policy and procedure check and balance" on the private sector. However the "Right" should do some research into the extent to which even the major conventional energy corporations are investing in alternatives and renewables R&D -- and even the military implementing these systems.
The evidence of climate change is undeniable.
The potential for disruption (or even devastation) of human existence is significant.
The arctic freezer-compartment isn't working the way it used to.
The glaciers are retreating almost everywhere.
Some "land-based" ice sheets are threatening to add their content to the oceanic levels of height and detract their freshwater input from the salinity of the oceans (with a worst-case scenario of shutting down the thermo-halene "conveyor")

    Ohmygod!! What shall we do??
We must overturn Roe v. Wade. And stone (after the delivery) anyone involved in seeking abortion illegally.
    We must reinstate school prayer, but only Christian . . . . . .but should we allow Cathlic .. . . jew .. . ... . ... . . . . .
We must shut down the whole Internet which disseminates Satanic knowledge (which is anything other than "knowing Jesus")
We perhaps should also instate "Christian Perdition" -- women veiled and not allowed out without male family-member escort.
We will, of course, have to impeach Obama. How obvious his Anti-Christic intentions for man to evade the punishment for sin via "health care" provided by that house of Satan known as the secular Federal Government.

We must save the world from its environmental-dynamical demise!!! We must kneel and pray.
Heavenly Father, make of us a medieval miracle of mania so that we can solve the problem of forest fires and droughts and storm intensification and invasive species (soon to include other ethnicities even here -- already elsewhere) and . . . . . . . . . . .
    Halleluyah.

At least I'm saved. I've screwed energy saving light bulbs into every socket in my residence. And through the last couple months I read (and wrote a couple books concerning) the entire Bible, Old and New cover-to-cover.
If you're imaginative enough, you can find "prophecy" for everything now going on therein.
If you're unimaginative enough, you'd probably think you could find solutions for the present environmental problems in, perhaps, Psalms . . . .

Moyers and Company: New Study: 72 Percent of Fox News Climate Segments Are Misleading

This news is a month old, but I thought it would fit here.

"According to a new study by the Union of Concerned Scientists, misinformation about climate science on cable news channels is pretty common. The study found that last year, 30 percent of CNN’s climate-related segments were misleading, compared with 72 percent for Fox News and just 8 percent for MSNBC. The study methodology was quite strict: segments that contained “any inaccurate or misleading representations of climate science” were classified as misleading."

"By far the worst performer was Fox (this is hardly the first study to associate this channel with sowing reams of doubt about climate change). Notably, the UCS report found that “more than half” of the channel’s misleading content was due to The Five, a program where the hosts regularly argue against climate science."

Since Fox is the leading cable "news" outlet, it is no wonder that their viewers and therefore a large segment of the population are misinformed on Climate Change. They have gullible viewers.

There is little doubt that our global inferno is imminent. Dead Dinosaurs melted into, & created the earth's supply of OIL, which is now seeking revenge for the Reptilian demise. OIL shall be our Nemesis, as it incinerates our air, water, & cities. The pure water of salvation is drying up, as we drown in rising sea levels of oil-polluted sewage. Even the bacteria are uprising, that we conquered so long ago. Mutated monsters under the sea, and in the Gulf, are waiting to devour us, if we dare to swim in their hellish maelstrom of half-alive corpses and slimey decay. If you visit the once pristine glaciers, they have vanished into the silent memory of semi-extinct species. As the swirling cosmos shineth above, which once we thought to be a second home, if Earth we left behind, now remains a tragedy, as we perceive, no human beings can ever leave, and yet survive.

Some people believe Jesus had his own pet dinosaur, or was it Noah had a pair on his ark? I'm getting so confused in my old age. I'm going to throw those new fangeled LED lights out and go back to my whale oil lamps. At least, whale oil is a renewable source and god knows where LEDs come from (I sure don't)!

Jesus rode a dinosaur into Nazareth, on the way to Gilgamesh. There were bright LED lights in the sky, that night, but nobody could find where to plug them in. The Wise men had not invented the electric socket yet. While 3 Kings of the Orient travelled thru the desert on huge snails, playing golden stringed instruments, which matched their jeweled crowns. Giant angel-Moths flew thru the sky, their voices reverberating, from mountain peak to mountain peak. And the pyramids were born. The world revolved from night to day, and on that desert sand they lay, never knowing the miracle upon the hay, would be the God to whom we pray.

Just too bad once the whale oil runs out, then we will be the dinosaurs. Please have the last human turn the light out and then hopefully he can depart to Mars where some nutheads (as planned already) can save humanity from extinction and can start the poluting cycle all over again somewhere else, so no problem there are plenty of "heavenly" bodies left to polute; may be we can plant some more made in China flags on these planets as well as our candy wrappers. Jesus wil be proud of the human race for sure; every one will get a plastic medal made in China's heaven.

Some of us are ageless, pgr, as I believe you are also. Timeless, ageless, infinite -- & "eternal" like in eternal flame.
But was I really there? --- Only the shadow knows : )
