I think that youth today have no values. I have observed youth demeaning others. I think that youth today are mean and only care about popularity and status. What can we do to bring values back to our youth? I think we should have school uniforms.

People have been saying this about young people for 6000 years! I agree, we need school uniforms universally in the US.

The answer is simple; if the parents are not behaving as parents but ony chase money and have no time for the kids then these things happen.
The culture here is asking for it; just stuff the kids with toys; for the rest the kid is just an household item. Go play with your I-Pad etc. and shut up.
No this country needs a cultural change, which starts at home; no guns, killing movies or games, clean your room, learn neatness, no tatoo's, no TV in yr room, make your homework, help with the household shores, learn to communicate with your parents, sit down with the whole family at dinner, discuss things with your parents. etc etc. Too bad that our society mostly concentrates on stupid things; but not on how we as parents should act to give the kid a better life later on; forming the kids mind should be the task of the parents not that of the army, church or media.

Maybe the problem has been the parents or lack of..............which makes it imperative the need for military, church and better parenting. Since more parents today have no discipline and allow their children to do whatever it takes to occupy their time, the military and church environment offers better structure in advising how a child should be raised. Ever since people are nor going to church or in the military as in past, our children are running amok and aimlessly without discipline or structure. Teachers makes this argument more each year as they see the kids being unable to be taught the simplest of "R's". I desire the draft to come back and mandatory service to the community. I also encourage people return to Church and learn God's wisdom and love. So, you can see a direct connection between les military and church is resulting in failure of parenting and children being raised poorly.

America has done an injustice to the children growing up the past several decades. Church was a mainstay in family life and now it is not. Military was an option for most all children desiring a trade, skill and a wanting to serve America. Our country is going backwards, even though we profess that children are our future. America has done a disservice to it's children by removing/discrediting military and church as opportunities for a better life. So, keep on criticizing military and church and more children will absorb this garbage and continue to be useless in knowing how to achieve success and a better life.

You're assuming (wrongly) that people (children) cannot grow up with any values without the influence of religion and the military - this is absolutely nonsense!

Completely agreed. AMC That was a crazy post. Many things are needed or could be better. The church and the military don't hold all of the answers. How good of an idea is the military if the politicians find another war to send our kids or grandchildren to ?????

Uniforms ????? I don't know..... I guess that's fine if it helps. Kids aren't that way only today. Kids have had behavior issues forever.

AMC, Please read PGR's mail and mine again; once religion or the army gets involved it is already way too late for parents to make them think for themselves. Parents should teach them to be independant and have them stand on their own feet and be able to think for themselves. Of course the parents should tell them also the pro's and con's of both religion and the army as well as Wall street and other things like the NRA such as the responsibily of owning guns as well as living in a complex society etc. Learn to manage resources, like money, payments, debt, responsibilties in the society (you are not alone on this world), culture, other countries and their way of life,as well respect for nature and animals. Of course there are lots of other things like (unwanted) sex etc. So parents should have their hands full to raise their kid(s); however they seldom have the time for that or make the time for that. This is America and the future is in hand of these kids; I fear the most; no knowledge in between the ears anymore; the I-Pad has become their brain and the parents are nowhere to be found..

Look at the statistics of those that no longer or have never attended church and/or have no constructive life that was obtained from the military, you will find that divorce rates are high, drugs are imminent in their lifestyles, depression from unable to handle stress, and suicide. Although, I will agree that war conflicts aggravated many of these situations, but look closely and see where these succumbing to tragedy have no Church or a love of God.

Humans are fragile beings. We would like to be able to solve every conceivable problem we face, but we are handicapped with ignorance, pride and greed. The sins of our life overwhelm us making failure more constant than success. I can't count the number of times I find people in misery over there lives because they try to handle their issues all by themselves. The misery becomes worse when it hits their family, children, and good friends. This 60's guy that encouraged people to drop acid, he was a professor and has already passed, but he relented before dying and said he was wrong. Just like the guy who encouraged "Tough Love" on troubled youth, he relented and said he was wrong.

No mankind is an utter failure trying to solve worlds problems and human tragedy. Please, believe in God and let Him help you with your problems. Don't do the foolish thing by testing Him and calling Him out as a challenge. With God we are mighty and without just utter failure.

Sorry to say you as parents have the task to raise your kids properly; sorry "god's" do not raise your kids, you do.
This society is full of treaths you as a parent are responsible to educate them on that to the best of your knowledge.
The biggest challenge is "the media"; smart phones, I-Pads, and games are influencing even already kids of 3 years old; so that may become a huge problem

Apparently, history reveals that current parenting is lacking today, especially amongst the parents who do not practice the love of God and Country in the family. The pristine values of God and serving one's Country consecrates the family unit and teaches the children to continue the practice long after the parents have passed. Because mankind alone is so ignorant of solving one's problems, there is urgency in the need of God in one's life. Which is one reason why so many lost in life's struggles come running to those who offer assistance. Those who offer assistance around the world........why it's churches and many of them. In Africa alone, religion is dominating the population interest and leading them from out of despair. The horrors of war and famine in Africa are making people flee to the sanctums of God through the Church. The homeless, crime impacted and drug addicted people of the streets of America they come running to the churches for help from despair and helplessness. So, where are these organizations that are not God-based helping people. I realize there are a few outspoken groups that are God-less helping people, but they are few in numbers and offer very little lasting assistance. It's as if these God-less organizations attempt to propagate their message based on pride of themselves instead of the humility of doing good deeds and work for God saving all His children. I also understand these God-less groups don't fair well and are short termed endeavors of helping people.

God and Country promotes family values and strong relationships that last many, many lifetimes. Remember your parents, grandparents, and great grandparents, because they have tried to establish God and Country in all of our hearts. Remember the holidays spent cherishing God (Christmas, Hannaukah, Easter, Christenings, Birthdays and especially the PRAYERS around the family. As good parents, we try to promote God and Country to our children, because it is for their success and saving grace in their life.

AMC, you are loosing it making statements like:

No mankind is an utter failure trying to solve worlds problems and human tragedy. Please, believe in God and let Him help you with your problems. Don't do the foolish thing by testing Him and calling Him out as a challenge. With God we are mighty and without just utter failure

Go right ahead and practise that; you must be kidding; sitting on a chair and waiting for whatever "god" to raise your kid.
No not one human designed "god" will help you; you have to solve all problems yourself. "god's" are not involved at all; they do not teach nor exist.

I completely agree! Less costly and provide a more respectful environment which is sorely needed in the schools.

It will get a lot worse before it gets better, if humanity doesn't allow God into their lives. In fact, it will not get better or improve. Just keep watching and taking score of children failing, because you have already condemned them indicating, "You can solve the problems.". Can you solve the problems before you pass onto your "Spiderman" world? I be the first to say I was wrong if improvement can be realized, but I can't see how you can alter the course of mankind's torment and demise.

I'll continue to do the best I can with those around me, my Church, my family, and my friends. Although this is a large and troubled world, it's the ignorant, selfish and greedy people of the world that refuse to change that makes saving this Earth impossible. A mass saving of people and incredible faith is our hope with Christ and a love of God is our only hope. That scientist and leader........he/she hasn't been born that will stop our doom.
