Reading this morning's newspaper, it is becoming more evident that journalists are noticing a trend and beginning to write on the subject. Now, I can believe that journalists have long known about the subject of Gun Control, but now it has hit a social high in regards to "Why a felon can get a gun?". Most all of us have published our opinions and thoughts on the subject of Gun Control with some saying it's a lost cause. However, there are some of us that advocate more stringent Gun Control is needed.

What has brought this light is the recent killing in Kansas City by a deranged 73 old man, who has a felony conviction and served his prison sentence. The questions are being publically asked in the press on, "How does a sick man with a felony conviction able to procure a hand weapon and shotgun to murder peaceful citizens?". The article continued to given information on law enforcement and legal authorities moving toward convictions on those they find negligent in providing this man guns. As I understand, the gun dealer and any straw man used to purchase guns are held liable and may be convicted of a felony to provide this felon with guns.

It will take time for the public to become more aware of this injustice and gun distribution that is out-of control. This makes Gun Control and it's regulation much more visible. Most of America is deaf, dumb and mute on the subject of Gun Control. Promoting strict Gun Control legislation is becoming more visible to the American public. It is in our future that strict Gun Control will become more of a reality and that current Gun control legislation is not working.

Also, I understand that purchasing gun components through the internet gives a person the ability to make his own high caliber, automatic, massive round killing weapon without any control or licensing required. More public awareness is needed to force legislation and the evils of the NRA to back-off on opposition to more gun control.

The biggest problem in our society that we all face is that more people are required to die or be murdered for the success of Gun Control legislation. The stupidity of politicians, gun manufacturers, gun distributions and NRA groups, only serve to advocate the continued killing and murder of peaceful Americans trying to live in harmony with others. Just like the Nevada land grab situation, hold your gun and shoot it out with law enforcement to ensure your criminal act of not paying public use fees is sustained. Why is there more guns in America (not counting the military) than there are people?

Amc I agree with most of your post.

I heard the same thing 5 years ago, and 10 years ago, and 20 years ago.

We'll hear the same thing 5 years from now, and 10 years from now, and 20 years from now.

What has changed in the last 20 years? Not much.

What do you REALISTICALLY expect to change in the next 20 years?

    Too many politicians are OWNED.

Again, a girl of of three years old killed her little brother because Dad left his gun standing somewhere This is the "x"d' time that this happened.
Congratulations America; keep your guns fully loaded with the safety off on a place kids can easily get access to it; that will safe on birthcontrol pills or abortions and will keep the over-population in check!!

No worries Dutch, as long as the illegals keep coming into the country by the millions, they will take care of the overpopulation!

And today we hear that over the weekend in Obamas hometown of Chicago, gun violence killed 9 people and hurt at least 35. Including 5 children. The weekend before, 36 people were shot in 36 hours.

Happy Easter to all the people of Chicago, at least to all the survivors, and how are "some of the toughest gun laws in America" working out for you?

They say that warm weather brings an increase in gun violence so keep your heads down!

I just wonder; I saw on the news that they also at random shoot at moving cars; so your statement of keeping your head down may apply; however I need a periscope to still see the road ahead. I guess I start a new company; installing kevlar panels in doors of cars. Make a fortune!!

"Breaking News", since we all like the news reporting alerting us this way, Georgia's Governor about to sign the most permissive gun carry legislation in all of America. As I briefly read, guns may be carried into churches, bars, public buildings, airports .....ect. Who's guarding what? I understand that any public place in Georgia may, "Opt out", defining "NO" gun/weapon allowed. The reasoning for permissive gun carry is that all citizens may shoot the bad guys with guns. I think it is time to avoid the State of Georgia in all situations. Georgia can have the lone conference holding for the NRA and everybody else will go to some other State for their conferences. Sporting games should cancel out, including the SEC, NFL, MBA, and NBA. Someone has to make intelligent decisions, because the Georgia politics is extremely limited in intelligence.

It's "open season" on humans in Georgia. Guns galore and ammo for all, just shoot your hearts out. This bill passage and governor approval is the slop in the pig pen. May Georgia suffer for this passage. I'm going to bypass this state. I assume now more states are going to do likewise. May the NRA roast in hell for lobbying this.

Don't be so nasty; NRA roasting in hell! (and that for believers!!) wow, you love guns (as also used by the army on innocent people) and religion; so "forgive" (your favorite statement), so these guys can go to heaven instead; the Pope is all for it. Too bad guns are too heavy to transport with dead "souls" to Mars, otherwise they can start a heavenly NRA!!!

Why this subject does not go away.

As Georgia has agreed to implement permissive gun carry law prohibiting law enforcement from arresting persons for openly carrying weapons, we now have a incident of a crazed individual attired as "Rambo" shooting up a FEDEX location. There may not be a connection, but there will always be the suspicion of, "Did the law passage enable this person to think he could do what he has done?".

Watching Wayne LaPierre media press coverage speaking at the NRA last week, shows me this person has nothing good for America. While reading Wikipedia, LaPierre ranted during the George Bush years that Federal Law Enforcement personnel are nothing but Nazis with black helmets and storm trooper boots on terrorizing citizens. Although this enraged Bush, Wayne still has the acceptance of gun loving Americans that feel the US Government stay out of their freedom to own and use their weapons of choice. There is a war going on within America on Gun Control. I encourage the readers to Google/Bing search on Wayne and read about his history and branding of America. I am one that does not appreciate Wayne Lapierre's contribution to America. I continue to see LaPierre's methods and advocating guns is only perverse anti-humanity and serves to make money for those who distribute and manufacture weapons.

Yes, Americas are at war with gun control and choosing sides depends on how you rationalize humanity. If you believe it's kill or be killed, than you will agree with LaPierre and the NRA. If you believe in the notion there are too many gun owners that should not have weapons, there are too many persons that have mental conditions that would deny ownership of a gun, and there are too many gun types that promote massive kill ratios for ownership of common citizens, than you are more likely opposed to the direction of permissive gun control. Choose your side, it is your future for America. Guns or life is how I see the decision to be made.

I do see more Law Enforcement, local and state Police, are coming forward opposed to the permissiveness of guns in America. It is easy to see why they stand against the direction America is taking.

Removing mental health issues from the do not check list from the background investigation and add it the must be checked first list would do more for preventing further gun violence then any new and reactive gun law ever could.
