I don't know the analogy skinny jeans cowboy and what it refers too, I have been flagged and had posts deleted because I slipped in a cuss word or two, I have learned and now post appropriately. BTW, that's the way it should be to keep the integrity of this Forum social and not argumentitve.

There are rules that all members must adhere to when writing on the forums. HERE is a link to our rules for this website.

It is quite understandable that members want to use vulgar language sometimes, but I would encourage members to refrain from leveling personal attacks because you are frustrated with someone. An occasional curse word is fine. Personal attacks and "calling out" a member is not.

We need to make sure the forum is open and welcome to anyone who wants to engage in constructive debate. I disagree with multiple members on this site quite often, but both sides always need to make sure that we can disagree without being disagreeable and avoid turning a constructive debate into something personal.

Outside of that, enjoy! We all have our strongly held beliefs and the Democratic Hub welcomes you to lay those out for all to see. Moderators just have to make sure that all the rules are followed.

agreed....but don't you think free speech missing any personal attacks at violence or vulgar name hashing shouldn't be deleted.... we are not children here.

I figured he wore skinny jeans because he was incorrect and whining (sensitivity) in one of our engagements...I said that Spirits of the Alamo would turn in their graves to hear Texan act as such (in a nut shell) I called him cowboy, not coward,,,,but I guess it applies

I didn't delete any of your posts. But if you have an issue with me I have sent you private message. No need to drag this out to the public forums.

Your freedom of speech will never be infringed on this site. It was me that removed one of your posts for breaking a forum rule. The first rule on our site is to Be Respectful Towards Others. A subset of that rule states that members need to avoid "personal attacks against other members."

I understand you were upset that a post of yours was deleted. If you ever want to ask a moderator why a thread was removed then I would recommend private messaging one of us so it can be explained in more detail and hopefully resolve the issue.

We will not remove a posting if it didn't break a specific rule. If a member feels that a post of theirs was unjustifiably removed then I suggest that you email one of the moderators to allow us to get to the bottom of it. I have inadvertently removed a post before and have no problem correcting my mistake if it is brought to my attention.

You're a welcome member on the site, LA. We don't want anyone taking something personally if they have a thread removed. As I said--let's have fun! Politics is messy. It's bound to bring out emotions in us and that is understandable. You are more than welcome to show your passions, but just remember to refrain from leveling personal attacks at other members.

Not a free speech issue. The government is not coming to sequester you for what you said. Free speech guarantees you a right to say what you want, it doesn't guarantee you a podium or a forum from which to speak it.

Personal attacks on members are not allowed in forums because they aren't constructive in any shape, way, or form. For example, how does calling anyone an idiot further the discussion on climate change? We don't delete the posts because we are insulted, we delete them because we want to try and keep the discussion a few steps above two children arguing on the playground. I assure you, I have not been insulted by anything that anyone has ever said on this site. I've been baffled, confused, and morbidly curious, but never insulted.

I will never delete your posts if you disagree with me and follow it up with even the most basic reason. But name calling is just juvenile.

Part of applying for the position of being an adult is being able to speak and write with respect and limit the name calling, especially nothing vulgar, rude, threatening or profane. I know being an adult is so hard in some circles that lives to misbehave. Is it a freedom? That depends on what forum you use. In this case, DEMOCRATICHUB, owns the rules. Nobody has to play in the sandbox if they cannot play by the rules. I imagine there's some person who typifies the Mrs. BADD of Junior High wearing heavy dark glasses and having a horrible screech that makes the bones ache. It's scary enough to make you have bad dreams about her chasing you. Yes, Mrs. BADD enforces the rules, so there's not a chance you get a freedom to speak or write as you want. Mrs. BADD is watching us on DEMOCRATICHUB. Have a good sleep tonight!
