On Wednesday 'Stephen Colbert' tweeted, “I am willing to show #Asian community I care by introducing the Ching-Chong Ding-Dong Foundation for Sensitivity to Orientals or Whatever,” and caught extreme backlash for it. A "hashtag activist" started an account by the name of #CancelColbert, which lead to being the most trending account for 36 hrs, demanding the cancellation of the show 'The Colbert Report'. A web editor who runs the fictional persons Twitter account, tweeted this without his knowledge (even knowing Colbert would more than likely do this himself). On the show tonight, Colbert goes on to say several comments poking at the overly sensitive people out there, including one that made me laugh "Hitler had some good ideas". I have tired, but cannot see the reason in someone's mind to demand the cancellation of a show due to comments such as this. If you cannot find the strength to change the channel... mute the television

What do you think? Do you think this and other comments from Colbert are disrespectful and call for cancellation?

This is what amazes about Americans. two wars (un paid) ...... no jobs, no leadership......and people want to cry about some comments that have absolutely no impact on their lives. The government raping their wallets and we hear nothing.....that sensitive American metrosexual coffee shop revolutionary...WOW...needing to be heard. Must be a christian

I watched the full episode, in context, which more than I can say for most of people that are so offended. He was actually just making fun of Dan Synder's program of trying to make Native Americans feel less bad about his NFL team's name, Redskins. It was a bit... a lot of people just enjoy being offended and "outraged" on twitter. It's irritating.

..."a satirist getting yelled at for doing satire"...

That sums it up pretty well.

Yes, not only ..."a lot of people just enjoy being offended"... but they look for reasons to be offended just so they can cry about it. They go out of their way to search for things to protest. They are not happy unless they can play the victim, and only when "their" side is on the receiving end. When it goes the other way, it's OK.

..."Man up"..., as L.A. said. But that won't happen.

It reminds me of the Duck Dynasty guy who made the mistake of giving honest answers when being interviewed. He could have been politically correct but chose to tell us what he really thought. He is entitled to his opinions, even if they are wrong and offensive to most of us. His "mistake" was giving truthful answers.

The name "Redskins" will change, it's just a matter of time.

Funny, most of us grew up in a time of no seat belts, we can ride in the back of a pick up, leaded gasoline, bullies in the school yard, non-organic food,,,,and definitely a lot less complaining (victimization).....and guess what....I'm still here,,,as are you.

Now this new generation is so highly offended. Get offended about our infrastructure, labor laws, womens rights, taxes and foreign policy......grow some nuts. We got young men shaving their eye brows, wearing skinny jeans and worried about skin care products......and we wonder why there's an increase in lesbianism........Where's all the men?????
