The topic I selected from drop-down is "Race and Ethnicity"
For I'm at a loss ti understand the actual revulsion to our President other than his being non-white!
The double (or is it exponential) bigotry of the email (just below) to which I respond (below that) is
    absolutely astounding -- and unnerving.

    The email first.
My Daddy is a Gay Dancer
The fourth-grade teacher asked the children what their fathers did for a living.
All the typical answers came up - fireman, mechanic, businessman, salesman... and so forth…
However, little Justin was being uncharacteristically quiet, so when the teacher prodded him about his father, he replied, "My father's an exotic dancer in a gay cabaret and takes off all his clothes to music in front of other men and they put money in his underwear.
Sometimes, if the offer is really good, he will go home with some guy and stay with him all night for money."
The teacher, obviously shaken by this statement, hurriedly set the other children to work on some exercises and took little Justin aside to ask him,
"Is that really true about your father?"
"No," the boy said, "He works for the democrat national committee and helped to get obama elected, but it's too embarrassing to say that in front of the other kids."

    And my response.

It should be recognized that the original attempt at a national health care program was during the Bush (dad) administration. It was Republican Mitt Romney as Gov. of Mass. who pushed through "Romney Care", a govt. program on the state level.
It was predecessor administrations, especially George Bush (son) that drained a trillion dollar budget surplus into the billions-dollar deficit . . which the Obama administration "inherited".
The collapse of the housing market was the result of a bubble building for decades.
The collapse of the investment banks and hedge institutions took place prior to Obama. It was Bush (son) who infused Fed. money to keep them, and the 2 auto makers, operating and investing and employing, rather than incurring the result of letting "market forces" rule (as did Mellon as Treas. Sec. way back with the resulting Depression and bread lines and all).
Several of Obama's top advisors were held over from the Bush administration.
One of Obama's primary financial advisors happens to be Warren Buffet, one of the most prominent and successful and richest men in the world. And others who actually function as the "infrastructural information and intel. of policy" are hard-core CIA and military personnel. One of the right-wing exonerations of Bush (son) has been that during Obama, there have been more deportations of illegals from America than before, and continuing drone strikes.
Since Obama took office, unemployment (though still high) has declined. The stock market has soared.
Since Obama took office, corporate cash reserves have increased to immensity.
Since Obama, the 2% (or so) top echelon has become even wealthier.

Since Obama, as before Obama, the Conservative/private-sector has done next to nothing to create domestic jobs. Rather, the trend has been getting more work out of fewer full-timers -- and saving money by temps -- and, more and more robotics. Do we blame Obama for "the market forces" of what is not a market economy, rather a massing of wealth extraction.
Biish’s top-weighted breaks/rebates resulted in no private sector surge of jobs.
Millionaire investor candidate Romney wasn’t doing start-ups with lunch-box’d lines waiting at the gates . . . rather, he was waiting, it seems, to become the head of the Federal government (Pres.) before jobs could be created!!!!

Conclusion: Obama “inherited” the socio-economic situations of concern. On the high end (wealth acquisition, cash reserves, Dow), during Obama things are perking (and we hope not heading for evaporation of economics’ steam). So what have we got left to hate him for, to gay-bash compare him to? Does an old, old, term “uppity” fit????
