E.F. what did you smoke? Obama "overqualified" And a "miracle" wow. Why not make the guy "holy" or something.
Sorry he is a normal American, who behaves like any American, has its faults and good side. Since he has only a "law" background he is likely under qualified, because of that he knows very little of enginering, electrical, finance, or other area's. May be on the "financial" side he's got some qualifications to make sure his pockets are well filled via the lobbyists etc. No any person who ends up in the White House is imperfect, since they are elected by means of "money" and "speeches" only. Wake up E.F. you are sitting way too much in church and forget the real world around you.

So, Jimmy Carter, who was a nuclear engineer, was smarter than Obama? Maybe, I liked Jimmy much better as He has trust rating higher than Obama, but poor old Jimmy was inept at handling anything political. His downfall was not being corrupt enough to perform at the job of being President.

So in other words you agree that any president has its pro 's and con's and is just human (or greedy, arrogant, stuck up, uneducated about the real world out there; naive related to whom coaches him; is unaware of the Washington culture; loves guns and the NRA; listen to the lobbyists and pleases them; if in a bind, start a war; always please the big brass in the Pentagon; please the big money 10% ;etc. etc) And of course can not be an atheist. (read realist)

amc is right about Carter. He was and is a good man, probably the best person to serve as president in recent times.

He was far too honest and naive to make a good president. He did not sell his soul to the lobbyists like all of them do now. He was a very poor president, but that's not his fault, it's our fault for electing a truly honest man. It's not a problem now, for there's no honest people left in the race in 2016 or maybe ever.

Dutch you are right that all of the candidates have sold out long before they even get the nomination. I still would rather have a candidate who has enough experience and qualifications, than another one like president Obama who had neither.

ALL of them are going to be long sold out to the big money system before they get anywhere near the nomination.

I would like an anti-Washington governor, someone who has actually balanced a budget, a person who actually wants peace instead of war, someone who will be able to serve without lying to us, OK at least serve without lying as bad as President Obama has...in other words I'm looking for an anti-Obama. Somebody who understands how bad the national debt is and will be for the nation.

I just hope we can survive the next three years. We survived Bush so I think we will survive Obama, too. Let's hope so.

Yeah, the field of people who want to run and are may be qualified is getting thinner by the day; so my guess is that by 2016 a lot of new faces will try their luck; however old idiots like Mc. Cain or Kerry may want to run, so you never know how the money rolls and in what direction.
I guess the head of the NSA will make a great candidate; what was his name again? Stalin?
