It was 2 degrees in Central Ohio when I got up today. Currently it's 4.1 degrees. The news is talking about extreme conditions over much of the country. What extremes are you all dealing with ?

50° f in Boston today and going down to 0° f tonight!

Most people aren't savvy enough to even realize that Global Warming has nothing to do with the daily cold temps. After all, Faux News says "It ain't true"!

It's pushing 40 degrees here in philly, buts it's supposed to dropped drasticely towards evening, it's not global anything, it's all cyclical, just ask the Captains of the three boats trapped in the Artic, they were there too see if the artic ice was melting faster then usual.

Pretty cold out for the eastern 2/3 of the US and the cold goes all the way down to New Orleans and Florida. Much of Florida expecting freezing temps tonight. Frozen orange juice anyone? Or frozen oranges? 200 cities expected to set cold records.

Where is Al Gore when we him to explain all this "Global Warming?" Probably he is on a private jet, flying around the world, making speeches on how we should all cut our carbon footprint by walking and riding bicycles. Meanwhile he owns huge mansions, and his private jets spew tons of carbon emissions into the atmosphere. What a hypocrite!

He's made hundreds of millions by telling us to "Do as I say, not as I do"!

Somehow he gets away with it, and he's not the only hypocrite in the world, just one of the most successful.

We're ready for spring. Question for Al: When is it going to get to that "warming" phase of "Global Warming"???

johnny I heard that some of the scientists on the boat which originally got stuck were studying "Global Warming". If so, it's kind of ironic that they would get stuck in ice.

It's almost like karma in a way; after all what better way to study "Global Warming" than while stuck in ice?

And just to add insult to their pride , they had to be rescued by carbon belching ice breakers, which also got stuck ,so instead gas gobbling helicopters from those ships were employed for the rescue. Now that's irony.

The ship stuck in ice was from a large ice flow that broke free moving in the direction of the ice breaker ship. This large chunk of ice the scientists are saying broke free due in result of global warming. As weather science has always indicated for America's forecasting, the ocean currents that move across our coastline are the reasons for our climate. Apparently, as science indicates, the colder the water the more drastic weather changes can be experienced across America. It makes sense that melting ice from the polar ice caps makes the oceans colder than impacting weather development. Yes, the Pacific coastline water temperature does impact how much snow and cold weather you may receive. However, this new wave of cold freezing air is a strange occurrence drifting down from the polar ice caps. It's like somebody up at the polar ice cap telling people to stop destroying the environment or I'll freeze you out. I like that analogy.

I'd start building of investing in underground housing. Around my part of country are caves, thousands of them, with most still not used. Do you think mankind might evolve backwards to living in caves? There must be some truth to that, because I'm recognizing more Neanderthals around, especially in Congress.

Last reading per my car was -2. And according to my smart phone the Wind Chill Factor WCF is -25. Damn that's cold.
Yes AMC, under ground houses with geothermal heat.
I personally believe in Global Warming which is why mass amounts of polar ice is melting faster than cheese on a grilled
    cheese sandwich.

Here in FL we've got sink holes; so should I built a dwelling in it? Even here it is cold; 38 degrees last night BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I'm used to 83 instead. But Saterday it wil lbe back to 83; so to the beach will be plastered with all the snowbirds out of IOWA. Wow what a fun those snowbirds !!

If it's too hot, it's global warming, if it's too cold, it's global warming, no measurable snow fall, it's global warming, increased snowfall, yep, global warming's fault, you just can't win with these guys. Are the boys down under experiencing Global warming, Africa is still hot as hell as is the Middle East, I mean , weather wise , is the South pacific cooling down or is the U.S of A the only ones being affected by this Global warming.

Underground housing has been around forever. Not in caves, or sinkholes, but homes built mostly underground. A friend of mine had one built at least 20 years ago, and 90% of the house is underground. He jokes that he'll never have to pay for a new roof but he does have to mow his roof.

Cool in the summer, warm in the winter, safer in tornados, earthquakes and hurricanes...what's not to like?

Beware! It's the POLAR VORTEX! Run for your lives!

POLAR VORTEX. That's what they are calling the cold weather this week.

I never heard the term before but in the last few days it's everywhere and seems to be the newest catch phrase of the "Global Warming" crowd, at least those not stuck on ships at the South Pole regions of the earth.

Sounds like a bad SyFi Channel movie. Like Sharknado.

POLAR VORTEX! Scary, huh? Yes, I'm sure the Global Warming gang will be using that term to instill fear into the American public at every opportunity.
