Who would have thought that this would happen? Everyone. Everyone except our clueless government.

And the same thing is already happening in Afghanistan. Afghanistan will probably fall faster than Iraq, because Afghanistan has weaker government and security forces. Karsai won't last long after the US departs, if the US EVER departs, and I would not be surprised if Karsai departs BEFORE we leave.

How many more US lives and money will be wasted in these two shitholes? President Obama should have gotten us out of Afghanistan at least four years ago. When will he realize that we will never be able to change those people? Probably never.

The point is the US should forget to rule the world and force anyone to think like us. The more we go against it the more they will expand. Sorry to say again "religion" is in the picture; it does not matter if it are muslims or christians they both are guilty. Live and let live. If they would attack the US itself, then of course we have the right to defend ourselves. The biggest mistake is invading whole countries, instead of going after the real culprits. We certainly do not need 220 million dollar a piece planes to do that!!

Things have gotten so complicated over there in the Middle East that I actually forgot why we went there , don't say 9-11, that was an excuse to go, but we had no mutual aggression treaties with any of those countries, with the exception of Israel and I think Saudi Arabia, which I believe is more of a business agreement than a treaty, The European countries have more at stake in the Middle East then we ever did , since many of those nations as well as Japan and China get most of their energy needs from that region, where do they stand on the current mess in the Middle East and where is their presence? I say increase our alliance with Canada and maintain our southern border, and see what happens . I believe we should stop thinking that we are the World's safe haven and conscience, it was once said "That freedom is not free"., if asking for one's allegiance to the country that gives you asylum from those who persecute you and you find it difficult to do that that, then go somewhere else .

I agree with all of these comments. We should start by not allowing any politicians to have investments or even hold stock in any companies that profit from our defense efforts. Hell Cheney got rich with the massive profits of Halliburton in Gulf Wars 1 and 2.
Like Dutch said, we have to stop (Immediately) trying to tell the rest of the world to live the way we think they should. It's a stupid mentality and we can't afford to continue doing that.

Kerry said on TV he will not sent troops ( boots on the ground) however added they still may use other means. Again it means we will meddle; do we ever learn????? Any meddling will backfire in our face for sure, because anything the US has done in the Middle East had the wrong result; starting in 1948 with introducing the state of Israel.

Famous last words, " Read my Lips"," Mission Accomplished", " "I did not have sex with that woman" and now we have "we will not have boots on the ground", When will we ,the American people, ever learn that all of our politicians lie at will, and as long as we don't hold them accountable for their lies, it will go on and on.

Other famous last words..."Al Qaida has been decimated"...

That's what President Obama said. Somehow AQ looks pretty healthy after having been ..."decimated"... He also said the war was over, but it sure doesn't seem to be over since AQ just took a couple of major cities and seems to be on the way to taking the whole country.

How many American troops died in vain in Fallujah, Ramadi and these other areas that are going right back to AQ?

When will President Obama understand that we are just wasting lives and money over there?

Your last line is hopefully incorrect; it should say: "......that we did wasting lives........" Yes we did loose over 6000 of our soldiers lives, let alone a hundred thousand or more civil lives. Then the billions of our tax money and a bunch of nutty soldiers coming home. Congratulations government. Hand out the cheapy medals!!!

Dutch I hope you are right and we have lost the last of American troops in Iraq, but I'm not so sure. We allegedly pulled out the troops but are we sure that all of them are out? That our troops do not go in and out do "special" things at times?

Our government wouldn't lie about this, would they? Of course they would.

I think we all know that they have lied, are lying, and will continue to lie about plenty of things to do with our involvement in that part of the world. So, I'm not convinced that more troops will not be lost in Iraq.

I just saw another quote from President Obama about Iraq when we allegedly withdrew. He said the US was leaving behind a ..."sovereign, stable, and self-reliant" Iraq.

Who does he think he's kidding? He knew it was a lie as soon as he said it.

Does anyone think Iraq is stable or self-reliant? Hell no. You could argue that maybe it is sovereign, but certainly not stable or self-reliant.

All that America has done in the Middle East was kick and throw stones at a sleeping beast. The beast is awake now and wants to feast on what he calls the Infidels. The beast is loaded with ignorance and no sympathy for the world. All he wants is to annihilate America, Europe and Russia and anybody else that stands in the way. Do you ignore it? Better not less you wake up one morning with bands of faced wrapped terrorist that want your property, your money and your life. That is our future if America ignores the threat. I hope and pray that some kind of peaceful negotiation can occur, but I believe it is way past that. There are players in the terror market now that are mobilizing groups like chess pieces and bent on carving up the world for their own agenda of domination. You think Hitler was bad, you haven't seen anything, yet.

Talk about kicking and throwing stones at a sleeping beast!

If my local radio commentator is correct, it has just been announced that the USA will provide armed drones to Iraq! Ah yes, the middle east "peace process" reaches another milestone!

How long before these armed drones are turned against us? Anyone want to take a guess?

How many American servicemen and/or civilian contractors will be put at risk because of this decision?

I have been watching Al Jazeera for the last 1/2 hour. It's the first time I've seen it. Looks very homogenized. It must be the US version.

Anyway, the ticker at the bottom of the screen just said in Iraq, PM is urging residents to expel militants (Al Qaida)...... I thought WHAT ??????????
Where the hell is the Iraqi military or police ? Actually said urging residents to expel militants. Unbelievable.

Al Jazeera said there are 3 forces at work in Iraq. The Govt., Al Qaida, and the local tribes. The Govt. and Al Qaida are at a stand still so the local tribes are the tie breaker.

Your military background is giving you a total wrong look at the world; nothing what you say in your thread makes sense.
No one will annihilate(?) the US,why? we as people here have at least more than 350 million guns in our houses; then the US has the biggest arsenal of weapons which you can imagine; these muslim fanatics have to buy their weapons either from here (or from the one's we left laying around) or Russia etc. They themselves produce nothing except goat cheese. So all the crap you mentioned is indoctrinated matter. Pls think straight and see the world as it is, and do not get the wrong illusions.

I'm sorry Dutch that you are misinformed on how much of terror cells receive their funding and organizational support. Drugs, pornography and prostitution are major vehicles of funneling cash into terror groups. They also receive funding from doing odd jobs (VIP assassinations) by seeking out government officials, police authorities and people of interest around the world. These terror groups recruit nasty gang activity, such as M13, to do dirty work. There's a lot of money that traffics around the world for terror groups like, Al Qaida. The NSA and CIA monitors a lot of communications around the world including within America for the purpose of disrupting whatever evil agenda that is developing. It's a lot bigger than some spy novel you read and is so massive in complexity that it makes it hard get the bad guys. An analogy of the multiple headed snake is a perfect example of terrorism, because you cut one head off another head will strike.

This is not fantasy and people who work intelligence will tell you many facts about why it's happening and how it's occurring even inside America. It's what you don't know is what is murdering America. Please read some intelligence books, an author I can suggest would be books by Pherson. The author Grissom is very entertaining and some facts are true, but true intelligence gathering and an authority on teaching intelligence, I suggest locating some books by R. Pherson. His books are tough PHD type reading. I'm a college graduate in engineering and from an great University, but I sampled some of his work and it's those gigantic words after words after words that slow me down. His books are high level intelligence, IVY league type.

I'm just trying to open some eyes to show that not everything you read and hear from the media is all that is happening on the war against terror. The things that do not get released into the media goes to the cutting room floor and not to the public. The story is not big enough is the explanation until it cross a fine line into politics, large sums of money and thousands of affected people. The story on the kid that makes a snow bunny on the front lawn of his house will get into the world news before many terror events that were prevented goes public. We would all be surprised if the government would release data on how many terror cells were stopped coming into America. I would like to see the connections between big money, true foreign aid to countries, weapons distributed around the world, and find that unknown people with large interests that control governments around the world. I believe that everything has some connection to just a few sources and maybe one, The Big Cheese. It's not a comic book it's the real world we live in.
