Former Vice President Dick Cheney waded in to the public spat between his two daughters over gay marriage by siding with Liz Cheney, who is against gay marriage rights, in the feud. Cheney and his wife released a statement supporting Liz and that she has always been a proponent of the "traditional definition of marriage." Mary Cheney and he wife claimed that Liz was on the wrong side of history.
Alan Simpson, former US Senator and co-chair of the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, was recently a victim of Lynne Cheney's ire at a recent event in Wyoming. Simpson told Huffington Post that Lynne Cheney was angry with him for backing Sen. Mike Enzi in the Wyoming Republican Senate Primary instead of her daughter, Liz Cheney.
Liz Cheney has recently found herself in legal trouble after she admitted to filing a false statement on an application for a fishing license. She has been ordered to pay a $220 fine. Ms Cheney insists that it was a clerical error on the application and that she never claimed to have lived in Wyoming for ten years. It is illegal to receive a fishing license before living in the state of Wyoming for one full year, which Cheney has not done.
