Who exactly is in charge of American foreign policy? President Obama or Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu? Any middle-school aged student would easily be able to answer this, but the Republican Congress seems to think differently.

  • Here's Why President Obama's Executive Order on Immigration is Constitutional
Five million people were just informed they don't have to worry about uprooting their entire lives and be sent back to a country they no longer call home. Five million people were just informed they will be able to come out of the shadows and not have to continue to constantly look over their shoulders.
  • Americans Really Have No Idea How Our Government Functions
A recent survey conducted by the Public Policy Center of Pennsylvania asked over 1,400 American adults to do a simple task that every elementary school child should know, which is to name the three branches of our federal government. The results leave me more than a little frustrated and despaired. Over one third of respondents could not name the three branches of government.

Controversies & Scandals
  • Conservatives have been criticizing Romney's response to the embassy attacks in Libya calling it Romney's Lehman moment. Romney couldn't help but smirk as he read off his criticism of the President and Egypt as he politicized a foreign tragedy, which is traditionally off limits. Additionally, the criticism was not even accurate. The Obama White had already condemned the attacks. Romeny's inaccurate statement, geared for political advantage at a time of national crisis, could have a longer impact on the presidential race.
  • After months of avoiding the question altogether, Susana Martinez has admitted that her grandparents came the United States illegally before she was born. She confirmed that her paternal grandparents came to this country undocumented well before she was born.
  • Recent allegations have surfaced that Meg Whitman knowingly hired and exploited an undocumented worker. She withheld payment for her services and demeaned her when she was Whitman's housekeeper from 2000-2009.
  • On September 9, 2009, Wilson shouted at President Barack Obama while Obama addressed a joint session of Congress to outline his proposal for reforming health care. During his address, Obama said: "There are also those who claim that our reform effort will insure illegal immigrants. This, too, is false – the reforms I'm proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally." In a breach of decorum, Wilson pointed at Obama and shouted, "You lie!". Wilson attracted national and international attention for the incident. He said afterwards that his outburst reflected his view that the bill would provide government-subsidized benefits to illegal immigrants. Members of Congress from both parties condemned the outburst. Wilson later apologized to Obama.
  • Mitt Romney, after saying that he would never employ undocumented immigrants, has had evidence surface that he has in fact, employed undocumented workers. Romney used a lawn company that readily hired undocumented workers, Romney was cordial with them giving the occasional "Buenos dias" and his wife would often bring them water. He has been quoted saying "I'm Running For Office, For Pete's Sake, I Can't Have Illegals."
