A group of military veterans who took part in the "Million Veterans March" are furious that the Tea Party took over their demonstration for political reasons. The group was in Washington, D.C. to protest the closure of the World War II memorial during the federal government shut down, but claimed that they were apolitical and did not want the Tea Party to take part in the demonstration. The group wrote on their Facebook page that they were "disheartened that some would seek to hijack the narrative for political gain."
House Republicans forced a shutdown of the Federal Government after President Obama and Senate Democrats held firm in rejecting their extreme and unreasonable demands to gut Obamacare in exchange for keeping the government open. In a statement from the Rose Garden, President Obama said that Republicans have "shut down the government over an ideological crusade to deny affordable health care to millions of Americans."
