Susan Rice Benghazi Response a Manufactured Controversy

The right has been hammering away at Susan Rice since the Benghazi attacks on September 11th, but the criticism seems to have turned personal recently. What are Republicans doing here? Is it because they want President Obama to nominate Senator Kerry as the next Secretary of State so a seat would open up in Massachusetts? Scott Brown is fresh off defeat and would almost certainly run for the open seat. Or is it something else? One thing that has gone unnoticed, outside of a few personalities, is the sheer hypocrisy of the Republican party. Back when then National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice was nominated for Secretary of State, Republicans rushed to defend her handling of the intelligence before 9/11 and also for her role in the Iraq conflict. I don't recall Democrats saying that they would filibuster her nomination, as some prominent Republicans have suggested they would do to Ms. Rice. Democrats need to stand up and fight back against this baseless attack on Susan Rice.
