Republican Mississippi State Senator
Since her first running against Republican state Sen. John Blust in Greensboro 1998, Kay Hagan has been a tough competitor for the Democratic party. Will this be the year she is unseated? There are nine polls that show it's a very close race at the moment. Six of the polls show Hagan ahead marginally by 4-5 points, and one shows Tillis ahead with a five point lead.
For the 2014 midterm elections, the GOP has some truly scary candidates with extreme views on women's rights, the climate, and how our government should function. Some of them proudly tout their extreme beliefs while others hide behind them, but all of them would take us a step backward should they be elected.

An investigation has been launched to find out why a top aid to Mississippi State Senator Chris McDaniel's campaign and two others were locked inside of a courthouse where primary ballots were being counted hours after the building was closed on the night of Mississippi's primary election. The three individuals gave conflicting accounts to officials once they were found to be inside of the courthouse at 2:00 in the morning, which raised a 'red flag' for the Sheriff's department. State Senator McDaniel's campaign released a statement saying that the individuals were let in by uniformed personnel, but the Sheriff's department has refuted that claim.
Conservative political blogger Clayton Thomas Kelly was arrested and charged with the exploitation of a vulnerable adult after he allegedly sneaked into the nursing home where Senator Thad Cochran's wife resides and took pictures of her for an online video. Kelly was allegedly attempting to do a 'hit piece' against Sen. Cochran and in support of his primary challenger, State Sen. Chris McDaniel. McDaniel's campaign insists that he has 'no relationship' with Kelly and that he is not involved in his campaign.
