This will be ABC's 19th season for the ever so popular 'Dancing With the Stars'. Every year seems to top the last with over the top performances, new interesting contenders, and a more than healthy volume of watchers. Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews announced the new cast live today on 'Good Morning America' in Times Square. I have to say this years cast is more of a surprise to me than last years. The main two people who caught me off guard the most were Tommy Chong, and Randy Couture. Chong seems to of been taking a hiatus from the spotlight for some time now, and Couture is, well not someone I see dancing on a television show for a shiny trophy. Maybe change a few of the rules around and perhaps, but I don't see it going as well for the other contenders if that was done.

Another person I am quite surprised to see is Alfonso Ribeiro, AKA Carlton 'From Fresh Prince of Bel Air'. The first thing that comes to my mind (and everyone else's) when I heard he was coming aboard was "The Carlton" dance. I assume it will be known soon enough as to if we will see the jolly guy dance from side to side during a performance. My guess is it will show up eventually as Ribeiro said during the reveal interview, "I'm gonna try and show a little of the Carlton".

The total cast and matchups for this years 'Dancing With the Stars' is:

Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson

Sadie Robertson and Mark Ballas

Michael Waltrip and Emma Slater

Lolo Jones and Keo Motsepe

Jonathan Bennett and Allison Holker

Lea Thompson and Artem Chigvintsev

Antonio Sabato, Jr. and Cheryl Burke

Randy Couture and Karina Smirnoff

Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy

Tommy Chong and Peta Murgatroyd

Bethany Mota and Derek Hough

Betsey Johnson and Tony Dovolani

Tavis Smiley and Sharna Burgess

Season 19 will premiere on Monday, Sept. 15 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

I admit that I'm no avid fan of the show, but I am definitely going to be watching this year because I enjoy watching Tavis Smiley's show and can't wait to see how Tommy Chong dances.
Something tells me that Chong signing on to do this means he can actually secretly dance well. Otherwise, why on earth would he subject himself to this show? I will definitely at least check out his attempts.
