Shaun White Aka 'The Flying Tomato'

This guy has been an icon of mine ever since I have been into any kind of outdoor activities. White has been a master at almost anything and everything he has ever tried. He has two Olympic medals (so far), and is known for his amazing skateboarding/ snowboarding, has appeared several times in numerous tv shows/movies, has a video game named after him, and to top it off, he is the Guitarist for the band Bad Things. White was born in San Diego, California. In the first year of his life he underwent two operations to fix a heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot. From then on, he has been brewed for success. It doesn't hurt when you have the number one skateboarder in the world (Tony Hawk) to mentor you from nine years old through your teens. He quickly turned into professional material by the age of 17, going on to win several titles and awards. Although he was notably great at skateboarding, there was one thing he was better at... Snowboarding! He has been "shredding powder" ever since he was 7 years old.
Now, years later he has participated in several Olympic events. And unlike most other Olympic Athletes, he has won more than lost. Unfortunately, this years 2014 Olympics haven't been going so well for the red headed wonder. While everyone was very excited to see him participate in this years Slope Style Snowboarding event, at the last minute White pulled out and decided to set his focus on the halfpipe. And Needless to say, it did not go his way. White ended up getting 4th in the event, and leaving without a medal. "I'm disappointed," White said. "I hate the fact I nailed it in practice, but it happens. It's hard to be consistent." This was the first time since 1998 that the Americans have been overdone in the halfpipe. And i'm assuming that White feels a great deal of fault with himself being almost the number one most marketed and known athletes in this years games. Considering his last two events in years past, who could have known that a 15 year old Japanese snowboarder known as "Ipod" could have taken him out. In the end, talent is talent. And no one can deny Shaun White has plenty of it.

The final scores: Podladtchikov Aka "Ipod"- 94.75 / Shaun White- 90.25
