Former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura had harsh words for Sarah Palin calling her an "unqualified" "quitter" who had "screw[ed] the people of Alaska." In talking to Fancast, he said that Sarah Palin was the reason he couldn't get behind the Tea Party movement. "Anybody that would put Sarah Palin to the top of their list will never get me...She's a quitter...She quit in the middle of her term. That's the contract you have with the voters."

Sarah Palin: God Wrote Notes on His Hand Too

Separation of Church & State
When the media first challenged Sarah Palin on the need to write her core beliefs on her hand to remember them, "I didn't really had a good answer, as so often -- is me," Palin quipped at an Ohio Right to Life fundraiser Friday. "But then somebody sent me the other day, Isaiah 49:16, and you need to go home and look it up. Before you look it up, I'll tell you what it says though. It says, hey, if it was good enough for God, scribbling on the palm of his hand, it's good enough for me, for us. He says, in that passage, 'I wro...

Sarah Palin in Calgary told a story of how her parents got health care in Whitehorse Canada in the 60s. "we used to hustle on over the border for health care in Whitehorse. I remember my brother, he burned his ankle in some little kid accident thing and my parents had to put him on a train and rush him over to Whitehorse and I think, isn’t that kind of ironic now." Except that Palin told a different story to a Skagway audience in 2007. "Her brother burned his foot badly jumping through a fire, and her mother had to take him...

Palin wins lie-of-the-year award
politifact.com
Sarah Palin
Politifact, the pulitzer prize winning fact checking site, gave the lie of the year award to Palin for her claim that health care reform would include "death panels" that would "pull the plug on grandma". In reality, she was not the creator of the claim, but was one of the most high-profile spreaders of the claim.

Sarah Palin Rules the GOP -- And She Will Destroy It
alternet.org
Sarah Palin
Palin's influence on a party largely devoid of leadership is expanding. If she doesn't become the GOP's future queen, she may be its future king-maker -- and its destroyer. Her appeal lies beyond polls and punditry but rather with a movement that animates and, to a great degree, controls, the Republican grassroots -- a uniquely evangelical subculture defined by the personal crises of its believers.

The United States Should Implement Universal Health Care
There is no Republican health-care alternative in 2009. The same people who rail against a government takeover of health care tried to enforce a government takeover of Terri Schiavo's end-of-life decisions. And when Palin floated the "death panel" canard, the number of prominent Republicans who rose up to call her out could be counted on one hand.

Sarah Palin
What Alaska’s charismatic governor wants the public to know about herself doesn’t always jibe with reality. As John McCain’s top campaign officials talk more candidly than ever before about the meltdown of his vice-presidential pick, Todd S. Purdum tracks the signs—political and personal—that Palin was big trouble, and checks the forecast for her future. The pattern is inescapable: she takes disagreements personally, and swiftly deals vengeance on enemies, real or perceived.

Disaster is often followed by recrimination, a bitter aspect of human nature that can be observed among the Republicans as the Sarah Palin fiasco continues to unfold. The Alaska governor's surprise resignation suddenly revived dormant feuding among campaign operatives and conservative media figures -- notably between Steve Schmidt, the former campaign manager, and Bill Kristol, the Weekly Standard editor and Fox News commentator.

Why is Palin lying about state ethics probes?

Government

Sarah Palin
Is there a word for a hypocrite who's too clueless to realize she's a hypocrite? Brazen will have to do. Those 15 pesky ethics complaints, the ones she said cost Alaska "millions of dollars." In fact, the Anchorage Daily News reports that the complaints cost the state $286,000, and the most costly set (there were several) had to do with Troopergate. All but one of them were filed by her constituents in Alaska.
