Six months ago, NASA celebrated 30 years of achievement in the Space Shuttle Program. They flew 135 missions between 1981 & 2011.
The final launch of a manned orbital rocket - "Atlantis" - took place on July 8, 2011. They were used to explore space, develop new space technology, do weightless experiments, deliver supplies to the International Space Station, & give to the world their new peaceful exploits that would inspire generations of children to follow them. Many astronauts have sacrificed their lives to give the US great success in this endeavor. Now, as the AGE of NASA is coming to a close, we know not (if and when) we can ever do those things again.
A THANKFUL SALUTE To NASA & the Courage of our ASTRONAUTS
