To all my friends at the Democratic Hub: Senator Jeff Sessions, R, Ala, who has always stated that he is trying to reduce Federal spending and bring down the national debt, is costing taxpayers thousands of dollars by asking for a minor report from all federal agencies about spending under GSA Federal Supply Schedules during the last five years. He purports to have cut his office staff costs by 15%, but then he turns around and costs thousands from government agencies by asking for data which is otherwise available at no cost, simply because his staff wants it the way they want it. What a hypocrite. Instead of using freely available reports through USA Spending (from the Federal Procurement Data Center in DC) or free help from the FPDC to obtain government-wide reports by FSC number under the GSA schedules, his office has decided that they need to know what EACH agency has spent under EACH schedule group, and to make a long story short, this involves analyzing each GSA schedule number and what group it was under for the last five years to assemble a custom-made report to the Senator. Because various electronic procurement system types are used at the agencies, each agency is spending time and money on trying to figure out how to get this data from their systems and for the most part, they are involved in hundreds of hours of manual computation to put this report together for Senator Sessions, and hence, raising the national debt instead of reducing it, increasing federal spending instead of cutting back. Contact information for Senator Sessions office: The Honorable Jeff Sessions, United States Senate, Washington, D.C. 20510, Rick Dearborn - Chief of Staff, Sarah Haley – Press Secretary, email at website: http://sessions.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=ConstituentServices.ContactMe, telephone: In DC: (202) 224-4124 In Birmingham, AL: (205) 731-1500. I enourage all concerned citizens to contact him about this, and also all affected agencies to ask “hey, wait a minute, what’s the purpose for all of this” before their senior staff respond like robots, spending more and more tax dollars in DC without asking why. It’s a never-ending pit…. Please post your comments and suggestions, would love to hear the ideas and experiences of others on this particular issue. You guys are the brain of DC. Thanks.

I expect that Senator Sessions is on a witch hunt. His staff will dig through the reports and cherry pick information that can be used against Democratic opponents in the election season. It's not unlike the witch hunt that Darrell Issa is conducting as Chairman of the Committee on Government Oversight and Reform. Anything he finds against Democrats will be pursued with much media hype. Anything against Republicans will be ignored or swept under the carpet. This is what Republicans do.

Some of us wish Obama had pursued the Bush administration lies about the Iraq War with the same vigor that Issa is displaying in his partisan witch hunt of anything with Obama's name on it.

Sessions, don't know what he is saying sometines he gets confuse. He just said president Obama should have done more on the ss scandal. that was very dumb thinking.  a president can't do everything that is the reason he have people like sessions  to do the job. that is the reason he is president
