Arpaio and his sheriff's office's authority to identify and detain illegal immigrants has been revoked by both the Department of Homeland Security and a U.S. District Court this month. This decision comes after numerous Civil Rights violations, including racial profiling, illegal search and seizures, and terrible prison conditions. I'm shocked that this has been the only significant limit placed on his egregious abuse of power.
What do you guys think? Should he and his office be limited further or even replaced altogether?

Arpaio can be sued
Just found this article. A judge has ruled that Hispanics who have been detained by Arpaio and his sheriff's office are able to file a class action lawsuit against "America's Toughest Sheriff"

Zach:
The Arizona Republic had some very extensive coverage about the sheriff on December 16, which I referenced in my post of December 18 on this site (the ghost of tailgunner Joe). As of December 16, he had told the Arizona Republic that he was planning to run for re-election. If he does, he is unlikely to win, simply because even the conservative voters of Arizona are tired of
extremist politiicians. Russell Pearce was recalled in November, and there's a large group of people (including me) who'd like to replace the governor as well.
