"Birthright citizenship I think is a mistake," Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina told Fox News . "We should change our Constitution and say if you come here illegally and you have a child, that child's automatically not a citizen." Can you believe this !? I am so totally against this... it seems that for a while the issue has died down (it was first mooted in July 2010) However we need to revive the matter and make it a campaign issue in 2012. I'm posting this topic - because it totally irks me at how some Republicans are so arrogant ! Maybe (our fellow) Republicans should ask the real landowners of America - the Native Americans ( The Apache, the Hopi, The Cherokee, the Navajo, the Comanchee, the Choctaw and the tribe of Delaware) first, for advice. If John McCain and his cohorts (Mitch McConnell and Arizona Sens. Jon Kyl ) - who have indicated an openness to exploring the 14th Amendment issue raised by Sen. Graham; then they should address my statement below: In their efforts to have this ludicrous attempt to change the 14th Amendment - would they agree to having it backdated and legally commence as of 11th November 1620 - when the (illegal) Pilgrims of the Mayflower arrived on the shores of America and began to colonise the lands of the Native Americans ? - If so ...then I'm all for the amendment ! The Truth Hurts...sometimes.
