The Afghan government on Sunday identified 18 new areas where Afghan troops will soon take over security responsibilities from the NATO coalition, putting about half the country’s population under the lead of Afghan forces.
With U.S. gradually pulling out troops and support, how likely do you think it will be that Afghanistan will be able to handle its own country once we are gone? Do you think their
transition plan
will work, and to what extent?

The transition plan will get us out with some degree of credibility......this was mismaneged from October 2011 to the present......the US does not own Afghanistan and its fate is in the hands of the Afghan people......it is time to get out. History shows that US interventions like Afghanistan never work......I do believe that GW was right in getting rid of the Taliban......that was ten years ago. I am old enough to have memories of other ill-fated adventures......Viet Nam for example.
