Newt Gingrich has become notorious for being a hypocrite. There is no nice way to talk about this guy. He's everything that people hate about politicians, in my opinion.
This time, it has been recently discovered that he was paid between $1.6-$1.8 MILLION over the course of about 8 years by Freddie Mac for "consulting". Freddie Mac, the same company along with Fanny Mae, that seems to be largely responsible for the housing market collapse. He was a "historian" or "consultant" for the company right up to the market collapse of 2008. The problem here is it looks an AWFUL lot like lobbying payments.
Given that, and whatever he actually did for them, he has the balls to call out Obama in 2008 and Congressman Barney Frank and Chris Dodd saying, "If you want to put people in jail, I want to second what Michele (Bachmann) said, you ought to start with Barney Frank and Chris Dodd."
He was talking about there relationship with Freddie Mac and how horrible it is. What a hypocrite. Even assuming that his allegations are correct, which I am not sure of, (perhaps someone can clarify this for me) he has ZERO room to talk or criticize. I am so sick of this guy. Go away, Gingrich! Please, just go away. Agree with me?
