Oregon's governor, John Kitzhaber (D), decided that the death penalty was not moral and he decided to put a moratorium on it until the end of his term. One man was scheduled to be executed in a matter of weeks and 36 more are currently awaiting execution.

2 men have been executed under his watch as governor. And, this has not sat well with the governor. He was a doctor before a politician and he cited his oath of "do no harm" to defend his decision. I found it particularly cold that his ex-wife was quoted saying, ""We've been dealing with this since 1981. It was almost over. And then he changes it because he's a coward and doesn't want to do it."

A coward, huh? That seems incredibly unfair. You are solely responsible for the death of another man and you will have to live with that decision for the rest of your life. I would not want that much power. I personally feel for the guy. What does every on here think, is he making the right call? Where do you stand on capital punishment?
