Thank you to Rachel Maddow and staff for the story on fracking November 15th. It took a lot of guts to cover this very important topic and in my opinion this moves Rachel to the top of the msnbc news shows. The natural gas companies are  spending millions to run propaganda adds on msnbc throughout the news lineup. The almost total absence of any discussion of this important issue is obvious to anyone following this growing problem. The occupy movement clearly shows that the 99% have rejected how big corporations have hijacked our government . Have they also hijacked the media? Rachel and the rest of msnbc’s reporters must start exposing the clear and present danger of fracking and the short sighted greedy gas companies that are pushing this poisonous practice. Those of us who live in the northeast see the similarities with the mess that coal mining left for the taxpayers to clean up. Fracking has the potential to leave an even more devastating legacy. The continuing lack of any real coverage of this issue seriously brings into question how much influence advertisers have on msnbc and all the news networks.

Thanks to you for posting on this very important subject. The Democratic Party has been circulating a video called Gas & Oil (or some title to that effect).  Since it was mentioned on the DFA (democracy for America) website, & they would play that video at meetings, to educate the public, I managed to get a copy of that video. It is absolutely shocking, & it should awaken any sensible American to the danger of these obscene practices by the oil & tar sands companies. In one dramatic episode, they showed how people who lived around fracking areas, had water that would actually "ignite" coming right out of the faucet. It was so hazardous they were told to aerate the bathroom before taking a shower, as the fumes of the chemicals were bad for them to breathe, & possibly could ignite. People living in those "fracking" areas had their hair fall out, got very bad diseases, & many got cancer, but of course these are all considered to be "minor side effects."  NOW on the news this week, is the fact that several of these fracking areas had been subject to "earth quakes" & the fracking process itself has been called "mini-earthquakes" by those who study that process being done to extract oil from the shale rocks. These corporations have no ideals, no conscience, no human decency at all, & do not care what they do to their fellow man, to the earth on which we all depend for LIFE, and no caring what they do to the environment for all the future generations of Americans. They are an alien species, which exists only for Greed. It is not possible that our leaders should give up our land & ecosystem to such unworthy EVIL people. It is a sin against God.

I'll write more about this topic at a later time, but here are some interesting facts
to start out with:

1) the #1 export for the United States in 2011 was ... fuel (including gasoline)

2) the Keystone XL pipeline is a very bad idea:

3) the guys behind the Keystone XL project are a couple of brothers named Koch www.reuters.com/article/2011/05/25/idUS336798587820110525

Conveniently, the New York Times published a story this morning why the Keystone XL pipeline should not be built, and how green energy technology will generate TRILLIONS of dollars in profit and a LOT more jobs than an environmentally damaging oil pipeline (a fact that Thomas Friedman has been making for years):
