Do any posts, here, discuss traitors John Tester's(DEM) and Ben Nelson's(DEM) NO VOTE to Obama's jobs bill?  I cannot seem to find any information.

Jon Tester's no vote for the Jobs Bill is a head scratcher, particular when, as the USA Today reports, his positions on aspects of the jobs bill fall exactly in line with the key provisions in the bill:

I
n an op-ed, Tester wrote he voted against the jobs bill because it "invested far too little in actual job creation:"

"In fact, only 20 percent of the $447 billion was dedicated to physical infrastructure, and only about half of that money would have been available right away.

Over $250 billion of the bill was devoted to temporary tax gimmicks that don't create jobs. History shows us that too."

Tester also wrote that "there are provisions I supported. I support the surtax on millionaires. I feel strongly that this nation's wealthiest should pay their fair share in taxes."

"But," he added, "we should use the revenue from a new surtax on millionaires to pay for things that build our economy, like roads, bridges, transmission lines, rural broadband, and water projects."

Okay...that sounds good..but it shouldn't have resulted in a no vote. However, as the article notes, Tester is up for reelection this year, and Montana as a whole is a red state.

I nevertheless remain dumbfounded and disappointed.

They said it wouldnt creat enough jobs.  hhhmmm.  I scratch my head on that as well.  First off it would creat 2 million jobs.  @nd off It would put Teachers police and firefighters  and construction workers back to work.  Wether it created 100 jobs or 2 million it created jobs and whoever isnt for that shouldnt be making choices for this country. Them 2 democrates should be kicked off the dem team..
   Today 10-17-2011 They are starting to disect the plan.  President Obama is given it to the Republicans in baby bites.  Today they are putting forth the part that will put 400,000 teachers and i think first responders back to work. at the expense off taxing the rich who make net 1,000,000 or more income. Not assets but income of only .5%.  Republicans say that by doing this 300,000 small business owners will cut jobs.  They always make it sound so bad.  Its going to tax mostly investers.  And the rich dont create jobs anyway.  Wev'e seen that.  So if they dont pass this then they are going to have to explain to 400,000 teachers and others that they kept them from supporting their familys.  we will see.

Jobs bill?
I think President Obama means another stimulus.
I can't really figure out why He's calling it a jobs bill.
We spent 787 billion dollars on the first stimulus and were promised that
unemployment would not go above 8 percent.
Vice-President Biden said we would be seeing 500,000 new jobs a month " yes a month" being
created during summer 2010.... Where did those jobs go?
What we need is.. A New Deal.

Jobs, Jobs, Jobs

That's what America needs.

The problem with Corporate America;
1 - Trade Agreements have gave other countries huge advantages for Labor (Global Trade Agreement, NAFTA, CAFTA,).
2 - Republicans gave tax cuts to business for outsourcing causing millions of jobs losses, support off-shore tax-havens which allows business to not pay any taxes.

Any business who outsource overseas should be penalized with a higher tax rate which would help pay for unemployment for laid-off workers, then our taxes would not have to go towards unemployment, Welfare, Food Stamps, etc.

The problem with American people is;
1 - Rich Americans mostly buy foreign cars like Mercedes, BMW and Lexus (status).
2 - Poor Americans mostly buy foreign cars like Kia and Hyundi, shop at Walmart who stock mostly China products and who pay employees close to minimum wage with no medical insurance.
By Americans shopping there, this is rewarding Executives and Stock holders for using China made products exclusively and for sending employees to State Aid programs so tax payers are forced to pay for the employees medical insurance through state aid.

Change Trade Agreements and current tax laws which would force CEO's of big companies and business owners to stop outsourcing American jobs.
Stop using stores who use only/mostly China and foriegn products who send employees to state aid medical plans forcing state tax payers to pay for their medical.

Republicans will not allow any of these ideas because Lobbyists for the Chamber of Commerce and business' who donate to Republican election campaigns to block it, fight it or stop it from happening.

America not only needs American jobs brought back, America needs to BUY American !!!

BE AMERICAN , BUY AMERICAN !!!

Yep, in a very real way, the "stimulus" in order to get republican votes on-board, and pass something, relied on old ideas from republicans, that tax cuts for the very rich, will create jobs.  In truth, that just doesn't work anymore, when the rich are investing in overseas production.

So all we're left with is tax the rich, and creation of jobs.  I think more direct creation of jobs would be much cheaper, having the government hire engineers, laborers, and the people who do the work themselves, rather than giving contractors money, to get them to do "projects."  They then take the lion's share of the money, hire people as cheaply as possible, and it just becomes an exercise of the rich milking the government for money, and the poor barely scraping by.

If we truly want to fix our government, we'll bring jobs back home by instituting just high enough tariffs in each area, to bring 'some' manufacturing back here.  At the same time, as we will have inflation, we will need to raise the minimum wage, to more of a living wage.  Outside of this fix, it's create jobs, or watch the unemployment rate climb.
