I was watching martin bashir on msnbc. friday 9-30-11. they had a journalist saying that al-awlaki was at best middle management in al- qaeda. he also said that the people in yemen for the most part didn't even know who al-awlaki was or that he was killed. two things bother me is that nobody pick up on this and is the gov't. over hyping this. does anybody have any ideas or can somebody explain this. thanks

The actions at Gitmo were deplorable and as a group we rose up and demanded something be done about and something was. But this, THIS goes beyond Gitmo. Our president, the one we elected to stand up for the constitution has assasinated an American citizen because of unpopular speech, speech based upon his religion. Why are we not angered over this? I think it is because Gitmo was a big issue during the election and the Democrats rallied us, their base, to demand action and in doing so rallied us to support them in the election process - and we did. And this is what we get? If they truly were deplored by Gitmo they should be ever so more deplored by this, but it was they who allowed, nay ordered this American citizen be killed. What is wrong with us? have we really lost the ability to think for ourselves and only rise up against what we are told to rise up against? If you were upset about Gitmo then stand up now, take action and voice your displeasure at this even more deplorable act. Do it because you know it is right, that it is just - don't let yourselves be complacent, as they want us to be as it doesn't support the party.

I see the "Occupy Wall Street" movement and think, yeah it needs to stop, what the corporations are doing is wrong. But then I think why? I realize that we are again being played by our elected officials, they are the ones demanding that we rise up against corporate greed, raise taxes on the wealthy. And when I think about it deeper I realize that the Government is what has allowed these companies to get away with what they have done and are doing. It is our elected officials that have offered sweetheart deals to whoever can get them the votes be it corporate money(Solyndra) or union votes/ donations. They have been bought and paid for and they are trying to make us dance once again and bay on cue like the sheep we have become.

Stand up, rise up, be firm in your beliefs and voice those beleifs regardless of what it says about the party, if they are not doing what is right by us and our beliefs then they do not deserve our support.
