I suffered through the Republican debate last night cringing at every misrepresentation or falsehood.  The audience must have been heavily right wing because they cheered statements that were obviously false.  Some examples:

Rick Perry referring to Social Security as a "Ponzi Scheme."  He is either ignorant of the definition of a Ponzi scheme or simply chooses to perpetuate a lie that resonates well with his base.

Michele Bachmann referring to "Obamacare" as a job killer citing the Congressional Budget Office.  This is a gross misrepresentation of what the CBO said.

Rick Perry's denunciation of Climate Change as scientific theory that is not yet settled, and his use of the Galileo analogy.  Huh? he got that backward.

On energy, it would seem that most candidates still adhere to the "drill baby drill" mindset from the last election.  As any reputable oilman will tell you, America cannot drill ourselves into energy self sufficiency.

There are a few others, but these got me out of my seat.

Those are some of the same highlights I laughed at also. There was a drinking game posted on Facebook...if I had taken a shot each time Bachmann said "Obamacare" like the game rules stated, I would have had a mother of a hangover today.

Another fun observation, was when Al Sharpton, commenting on MSNBC, referred to the scientist that Rick Perry mentioned as "Gal-lay-oh".....a three-syllable name!
