Illinois Senator Dick Durbin is battling the banks in his state for bankruptcy reform, and he is losing. He came to the conclusion and told a reporter this, "And the banks -- hard to believe in a time when we're facing a banking crisis that many of the banks created -- are still the most powerful lobby on Capitol Hill. And they frankly own the place."

It's got to be disheartening to become a politician and try to genuinely change things only to run into the ugly truth that the system is corrupt. I feel that Obama had similiar things to declare when he got into office. Only he couldn't be as candid, because he's the President of the free world and all that. Either way, I'm glad Durbin is speaking out like this.
