Host of MSNBC's, The Dylan Ratigan Show, Ratigan spoke out very bluntly about our financial situation. It's been called the rant of the year. I would like to know everyone's opinion about this, seeing is how we are all liberally minded, where does everyone stand on his point?

Well....he's all over the map here. I like Ratigan...he fits my definition of a "Progressive-Conservative"..... but this is him at his manic worst.

His infrastructure bank might be a good idea, but I don't see how Obama could get it done after telling the entire Congress and all of Wall Street to go to hell, as Ratigan advises.

And even still, direct gov't lending is problematic, and we got a demand-output gap that underlies the entire problem. Secondly, Ratigan's method of funding the bank is completely nonsensical....bring overseas money home? What the hell is this man saying?
It's emotional nonsense.

I got reform initiatives myself:

1. Introduce Robert S. Fiskin's Deliberative Poll to every American community. Build a culture of democracy and civil debate around it.

2. Co-operative community banking. Establish a cooperative banking model in the United States...where customers and workers share ownership of an FDIC insured bank...let it compete in the marketplace w/ traditional corporate banking models.

3. Teach modern economics to people. Citizens need to understand how our financial system works. Start with Scott Fullwiler's net sectoral balances chart 1952-2010.

Once you understand this chart....our current economic situation is easily understood.....this is what happens when your domestic private sector runs a net deficit for a decade, because of insufficient deficit spending by government.
