Scott Brown revealed what happened to him in his childhood in his book, "Against All Odds: My Life of Hardship, Fast Breaks, and Second Chances". Basically, he accounts the times when he was sexually assaulted and severely threatened by a priest, abused by his stepfather, and how he escapes a local teen menace who holds him at knife point and orders him to perform a sexual act.

In a recent ABC interview, apparently his story sort of politically backfires. Scott Brown: The new face of sex abuse survivors shows the commentators of the CBS website trash him, saying "Real men suck it up. They don't go on national TV to play a victim card," "Is there anything politicians won't do to be reelected? Pathetic," "OK Scott, you get your free pity pills," and, of course, "Don't believe one word he says." Well done, Internet, you've made it a banner week for victim blaming."

Wow. Do you agree with the commentators? Is Brown playing the victim card and politicking?
