Will the GOP filibuster the debt ceiling raise? Lawrence O'Donnell of MSNBC thinks that a few Senators may, in particular Rand Paul. If the debt ceiling does not get raised on a certain date, the United States will default on our loans.

Debt ceiling doom and gloom

What do you think?

The establishment GOP neocons and the dems alike adore spending too much, so I have a hard time imagining establishment politicians going against anything other than tea partying demagoguery and the typical "We have to lower the deficit" commentary. Nothing will change

millions of americans have had to declare bankruptcy because of their large debts, this government is heading in the same direction.  We can not raise the debt ceiling.  We must curtail spending.  Back when President Obama was a senator, he said "it is a failure of Leadership" when Former President Bush asked to raise the debt ceiling.  Yet here he is asking the same...where is the outrage from all the Dems...I know that the President Obama has said he now regrets that action...what I would love to hear him say is..."I am sorry to Former President Bush, I (Obama) was playing politics while he (Bush) was trying to be a Leader"...it is easier to monday morning quarterback, but when you become the starter, then everything is different.

I don't think President Obama is playing poltics. You forget that it was Former Pres. Bush that put us in all thisd debt because he wanted to go to war. Don't know whatt he had to prove but everyone forgets that he has cost America ALOT. This includes all the military that have been lost which no amount of money will replace and now the Republican"s want to cut our benefits and the ones that have to use Medicare because they are too far away from military bases we are threatened with using Vouchers instead of leaving it so we can get half the care that we need however we can. And with cuts in the military it will be Active duty first dependents second and maybe we will try to make room for the Disabled Vets and the retired members of the armed forces who gave their all to be pushed aside.
I bet the Republican's have family using Medicare and all the other things they are trying to take from us.. PUT THIS TO A VOTE TO THE PEOPLE--- see what we want.

Somebody needs to take Rand Paul aside and explain that when you want change you do a little at a time.  If you eat the whole cake at one setting you get sick!!!  I'm from Kentucky and wonder if he turned all the medicaid and Medicare patients away because he only got
some of the pie instead of all of  the pie . What are some of his less  wealthy family members going to do for care??

Suppose if each American did not pay their due bill,  following ! the example of congress.  What a poor example for America being made by the elected officials who are without wisdom.  What a sad state of affairs we are in.
