The Tea Party is really pushing for the government shutdown. Even though the Democrats have already agreed to 2/3 of the proposed budget cuts, the Republicans aren't budging. Boehner, Speaker of House, is demanding $61 billion or else. This is serious. Here's the article from ThinkProgress.com

To the radical right of the tea potty, its all one massive ideological experiment that knows no bounds, its all or nothing in spite of the democrats who offered some concessions as opposed to allowing total shutdown. These Koch brother demon spawns are ruining the country

I believe the Tea Party has lost most of its clout. You can't have it both ways. You are either for teachers, firemen, policemen, etc. having the right to organize and support a union or against it. The Tea Party backed governors in Wisc.MIch, Ohio, Fla. etc. are trying to break up all unions. Just about all heavily supported Tea Party legislators have also voted for the tax cut for the 2% wealthiest Americans. When the Tea Party first came into the political picture, we did not know they were anti-union, anti-teachers, anti-firemen, anti-policemen etc.. We,also did not know they were pro-rich which automatically makies them anti-middleclass so they have lost all their members except the rich and the minority of the few rich-loving middle-class people.  Does this small minority now want to close down the govt? Do we care? I do not think so. God bless.

What source did you find your untrue comments...oh yeah....some liberal trash mag. Another media source trashing an org that wants some fiscal accountability and look what happens. The democratci political agenda at it again. How many times can one org/orgs cloud americans with their bs of smear campaigns. Wasnt it proven over and over by non-biased news orgs that it was found that many liberal news orgs had no other way to combat the tea party movement so they claim racism, or other name calling skills. They seem to pick out that ..0001% that is far right but claim "everyone is like this far right guy".  Nothing like NOT ADDRESSING THE ISSUES AND REDIRECTING PEOPLE'S ATTENTION TO ANYTHING BUT THE ISSUE.

I have been to a few tea party meetings to see what it was like.........................................a bunch of older americans who are fed up with all political parties and wanted to ask questions to the "peoples rep" on policies that directly impacted them. So, according to you guys, no one can complain about paying higher taxes, higher fuel costs, inflation, etc without being labeled by a bunch of biased, political agenda pushing liberals who resort to more drastic measures. Sadly, democrats cant run on their typical message: we like more regulation, more govt, more taxes to pay for govt. Even though our govt has a dismal approval rating, the dem's mantra is "we want more of this"

You can thank the tea party for finally saying enough and getting rid of the pos who put us in this position, and more is coming in 2012. So, do your thing, dont argue on issues, Just start name calling so you can redirect people's attention to unimportant, unfactual issues,

I respect your post above. It is refreshing to see a post contrary to mine. We are currently engaged in "class warfare". This "war" was started by Tea Party backed governors of Wisc., Ohio, Mich, Fla. etc.when they all tried to pass legislation to "break" unions of teachers, firemen, policemen, etc.  Republican Congressmen also voted into office with Tea Party support came out with a law that would force people 65 and over to be given vouchers that would require them to pay $6,000 to pay their Medicare health bills. At the same time, the Republican Party voted to give the richest Americans another l0% tax cut.It is difficult, if not impossible, to win elections without the support of teachers, firemen, policemen, old people, etc. and their families, loved ones, friends, etc. The Republican leaders in Congress claim that a tax cut for the rich helps create jobs. In 2007, we had an extended tax cut for the rich. Did it create jobs? NO. WE LOST 7 MILLION JOBS IN 2007.  In the 8 years Bill Cltinton was President, he hit the rich with the largest TAX INCREASE IN HISTORY. Did we lose jobs? NO. WE GAINED 22 MILLION JOBS IN THE 8 YEARS CLINTON WAS PRESIDENT.If you continue to read my posts "Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free"--Free from being a Tea Party member. I respect your post. I hope you respect mine. God bless you.

Tea Party members refuse to tell us how we can get rid of our l4.3 TRILLION DOLLAR DEBT. There are only two ways to get rid of this debt. The U.S. govt. must stop spending more money that they take in, and we will have to slightly increase income taxes on all tax payers who are fortunate enough to make enough money to pay income taxes. I understand that almost 50 % of American workers do not earn enough money on their jobs to pay income taxes so the burden will be on all of us who do earn enough to pay this tax every year.  We can not raise the taxes now until we get everyone working again and this horrible recession is over. It took us over 220 years to get this l4.3 TRILLION DOLLAR NATIONAL DEBT. By slightly incresing income taxes it may take us 220 years to pay off this l4.3 TRILLION. We Americans all got together to win World War II.  There is no reason why we can not win the war to rid us of our national debt. God bless.

We might be speaking German or Japanese right now were it not for FDR's institutionalization of tri-parte corporatism and central planning. Some might call it fascism. Others call it socialism.
I call it a winning deliberative formula for doing the impossible: fighting two wars on multiple continents, simultaneously. 1941-1942: Empire of Japan had control of the largest geographic empire in history; this while Hitler had control of continental Europe and a lot of Africa.

We went big...in order to save the world. And we didn't give a damn about the complaints and grievances of an overtaxed wealthy elite. This was Spartan American. United-communally for victory. Everybody sacrificed and everybody lost freedom.

It's clear now that gross miscarriages of justice was also committed in the name of victory. Japanese-American citizens can attest to this...

As Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman said "War is all hell" and the "Bomber Mafia" brought it to the enemy in ways never conceived of before, with two nuclear bombs on Japan for good measure.

Furthermore, allied victory in WW2 did not result in a draw-down of the national-security complex or in a complete resumption of decentralization. The US/USSR split and the Korean war made sure of it....largely as a result of nuclear politics.

What has been done in the name of the security of the free world boggles the mind.

Ron Paul and Tea Party people blame Wilson for entering us into WW1 as the root cause of the wreckage mid-century. Yet, individuals could just as easily say without any moral reservations that WW2 was a product of the US's failure to strongly facilitate Wilson's League of Nations.
Do the RP and TP people really think that WW1 could have ended in a stalemate? What do you think happens when both sides claim victory after a war? More war. And odds are that combatants would have kept fighting until governments started collapsing internally...see Russia.
Still...say US involvement in WW1 inexorably caused Hitler's rise....and bolstered imperial Japan...what were we supposed to do about them come 1940s....live and let live?
Really?

Is it possible that the Tea Party and the Republican Party have gone stark raving mad? How can they possibly win the election in 20l2? They brazenly want to kill Medicare and at the same time they want to give the wealthiest Americans another l0% tax cut. They, also, want to break up unions. If we lived in a sane country (which we do not), only the 2% wealthiest Americans would vote for the Republicans in 20l2. I really do not see why any middle-class voter would vote Republican. I thought jobs or the lack of creating jobs would hurt the Democrats but it seems as if the Republicans have disemboweled themselves by declaring war on Medicare and trying to break up unions.  Insane? It sure it. I love it. I can't believe any political party would be that inept. It is too good to be true. It is true. It is good--For us Democrats. God bless.

Boehner is well aware of the dire consequences of defaulting on the national debt payments.  Mitch McConnell would like nothing better than a credit crisis in order to put a Republican in House. For many hard line Republicans, the only things that matter are their ideology and the 2012 elections. Obama should draw the line: No oil subsidy subsidie.  No tax cuts without  dropping the Ryan's Medicare plans.  This is not a budget debate. It is class war. The lower middle class and the needy are losing. The rich and big oil are winning.

The Tea Party acts like a bunch of Communists.  They are hard liners who don't care about anything except their lame ideology. The Tea Party  doesn't even follow the concepts advocated by our Founders: Diversity and compromise.  Diversity provides unwritten checks and balances in our Government.
