The House has already voted to eliminate funding for the organization Planned Parenthood, house vote 93 - House Vote 93 - Eliminates Funding for Planned Parenthood

240 - Yes
185 - No

Of course, a great majority of the yes votes were from Republicans and ,vice verse, Democrats for the no votes. Basically, the government, mostly conservative Republicans do not want the government to fund abortions. While I do not agree with this reasoning in particular, I do believe we should cut funding in mass amounts across the board.

But, to cut Planned Parenthood and still have Faith Based Initiatives most certainly sends the absolute wrong message and undermines the basic ideology of the separation of church and state. Perhaps we will never see that separation fully realized. At least not with this current conservative movement.

It is absolutely mind boggling what the Republicans are up to. That vote, at the link above, almost strictly along party lines shows to me that Republicans are in some kind of sociopathic state of mind against women...no shame or sense of guilt...lacking empathy...full of rage...all powerful...all knowing...a grandiose sense of self. That defines them...that vote defines them.

Anyone who has taken a few minutes to understand what Planned Parenthood is all about, and the wonderful work they are doing for women in advising on birth control, health issues, sexually transmitted diseases and other issues would be appalled by the callousness of that vote. In any case, Planned Parenthood only receives about 1/3 of their funding from the government, and no government funding by law is allowed for abortion. Some 700,000 private donors plus big donors like the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Buffett Foundation, Ford Foundation, and the Ted Turner Foundation provide the bulk of their revenues.

And it's not just Planned Parenthood. Meredth Kormes in her March 24th Political Correction article, House Republicans Attack Women's Health Care cites how Republicans are also seeking to eliminate the Title X program that "provides family planning services, breast and cervical cancer screenings, and other preventive health care to low-income women," which means that, "in the absence of Title X's preventive care, some women would die."

The hypocrisy of all these actions is that once a baby is born to a mother with no means of support, the Republicans will walk away and oppose any governmet support for that baby. I for one cannot understand the Republican mind.

I made some strong accusations about Republicans in my posting above, and closed by saying that I cannot understand the Republican mind. Recall last month when Public Policy Polling said that 51 percent of Republicans ascribed to the birther conspiarcy theory. From Politico:

"Fifty-one percent of 400 Republican primary voters surveyed nationwide by Public Policy Polling said they ascribe to the controversial birther conspiracy theory — despite the fact that the state of Hawaii has posted Obama’s certificate of live birth. Only 28 percent said they think the president was born in the United States — a constitutional requirement to be president. Twenty-one percent said they were “not sure.”

So there you go...more evidence on the Republican mind to reflect upon.

Bill Maher cited that statistic on his program on Friday night. “If 51 percent think he was not born in America, I don’t know where that else is coming from except race. What more could [Obama] do to be the perfect family man?…There is nothing about this man that is un-American, except, to them, his color. I gotta think it’s coming from that place.”

So it's not only an attack on women. Could it also be that it's an indirect racial attack on Obama as Maher suggests? I'm just trying to understand the Republican mind. I know there are fascists amongst them, but even fascists showed some respect for women.

Push back on me...I'm ranting.

Then they should remind themselves that the Hyde Amendment has been around for a long time. If they don't know what the Hyde Amendment is, they shouldn't have the jobs that they have.

Republican strategy target minorities so that they leave and emmigrate to other countries so we have a white supremist state, why am I not supprised...
