A "California lawyer and dedicated atheist Michael Newdow is making another run at “In God We Trust,” with a new Supreme Court petition challenging the national motto. In an uphill battle, Newdow is asking the nine justices to review an appellate court’s rejection of his claim that the invocation of God on official currency violates the separation of church and state." Do you think this violates the seperation of church and state?

It should be removed. It falsely gives the illusion that our nation has but one religion.

In an ideal world it would be removed. To me the constitution is quite clear about this.
In the REAL world of today, I dont think it has a chance of being taken off. Our Supreme Court leans way too far to the right and the right is scared to death of the evangelical fundamentalists. We cant p*ss off the holy rollers you know. Can you imagine the screams of "persecution" coming from the pulpits if that was taken off our money?
As an aside, you know the words to the pledge of allegiance were changed to one nation "under god" at about the same time this was put on our money, right? Not sure about the exact date.... mid-50's I'm sure. You can still hear the ORIGINAL version on old movies and cartoons, believe it or not. If you ever get the chance watch the old porky pig cartoon "Old Glory" (1939) in it you can see the text book he's reading the pledge from.... no "under god" there, then at the end when he and Uncle Sam recite it together. I've won a few arguments with that cartoon haha! (yes.... I own a copy:))
