Lately, I've been noticing that we seem to not only be not getting out of the current wars we are in but we seem to be ready to jump into others...
A
quote
from across the pond. "Why is nobody talking about the Afghanistan adventure as a cause of our plunging recession? Or at least citing the 30-year-old endless war as a major contributory factor in wasting our money to "nation-build" in the Hindu Kush while our own country falls to pieces on food stamps, foreclosures and child poverty – one in five kids – that would put the world's poorest nations to shame?"
Are we addicted? Or is this our new world?

Addicted. The ,to use a phrase that causes people to roll their eyes, military/industrial complex is really the most powerful "lobby" in America. Without war and rumors of war, haha, the money would dry up. Power and Cash are the two most addicting things there are, at least in our society.
Its not often I recommend reading of a republican speech but everyone should read Mr. Eisenhower's 1961 farewell speech.
