Thanks for sharing your excellent interview with Tea Party members Jaredzn.  It confirms my observations of many in the Tea Party.  They seem like very nice people...polite curtious...very patriotic good Americans.  However, they also fit the stereotype of many of the TP activists...misguided and misinformed views of Obama and liberals in general.  Their cognitive dissonace in not being able to accept facts contrary to their beliefs is a testament to the effectiveness of Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and the whole host of right wing pundits that spread lies and misinformation for profit.  It's a sad commentary of our times, and it reinforces how otherwise intelligent people can be swayed by fear mongering.

All we can do is keep informing and educating...but how do you educate someone that doesn't want to be educated?

I've been posting links to your youtube videos on an (my) industry related site that I frequent. I hope you dont mind. Theres only a couple of other posters there who share our opinions on these T.P. kooks and the rest are either neutral or rabid T.P.ers. Thank you for the videos and the truth's you bring out. The wingnuts there hate you,the neutrals have said you make them think, and the rest of us laugh at the wingnuts foaming at the mouth. thanks

It all started when the far wrong started using liberal as a "four-letter" word. Can't remember if it was Reagan or GHWB.

And now a line from a writer with far more talent than I have. Aaron Sorkin from' The American President' "I've been operating under the assumption that the reason Bob devotes so much time and energy to shouting at the rain was that he simply didn't get it. Well, I was wrong. Bob's problem isn't that he doesn't get it. Bob's problem is that he can't sell it! We have serious problems to solve, and we need serious people to solve them. And whatever your particular problem is, I promise you, Bob Rumson is not the least bit interested in solving it. He is interested in two things and two things only: making you afraid of it and telling you who's to blame for it. That, ladies and gentlemen, is how you win elections. You gather a group of middle-aged, middle-class, middle-income voters who remember with longing an easier time, and you talk to them about family and American values and character"

The far wrong have for too long monopolized the conversation, we've grown timid and afraid of a fight.

When the Tea Party came into being they said they were for lower taxes and less govt. regulations. Beautiful! If we had MORE govt. regulations back in l929, we could have avoided the "Great Depression." People back then were able to buy stocks on margin for as little as l0%. As prices on stocks soared, if the govt. had insisted that stock buyers put a minimum of 30% margin down to buy stock, we could have easily avoided the "Great Depression." In 2007, one could buy a condo or house with NO MONEY DOWN, PAY INTEREST ONLY.  As home prices soared, once again the govt. should have insisted on a minimum of 30% down to obtain a mortgage and there never would have been a "Great Recession", and we would all still be working and we could have avoided millions of our homes and condos being foreclosed. Less govt. regulations? Truth is we need MORE of the right kind of govt regulations to avoid depessions, recessions, oil spills, etc. God bless.
