"A government agency on the front lines of the
immigration debate has begun installing lifesaving buoys in a fast-
moving canal along the U.S.-Mexico border where migrants drown each
year as they sneak into the country illegally. " See article.

The debate over the lifelines has long presented authorities with a
moral dilemma: Is it acceptable to do nothing when so many immigrants
are dying in the water?

I hate the thought of just letting people drown... But they do know the risks when they attempt to come here illegally... what do you think?
Why spend the money and save them? And How can you let them drown?

You spend the money because it is the "right" thing to do.

I would hazard a guess that most or at least a very large number of the people opposing this are also "right to lifers". It amazes me that those people can scream about every life is precious, and support this and capitol punishment and war.
