Out of curiosity

How many people think the 2nd Amendment should either be abolished or re-written? Is the a benefit to the fact that we have to determine what it means every so often?

Sure, take the guns away from respectable citizens and only the Criminals will have guns. Let's repeal the 1st Amendment while you are at it?

Well contrary to the Roberts court...I retain the belief that the 2nd Amendment remains unincorporated...and that it is a limitation on the national Congress. This is a true State's Rights interpretation, as Congress could not infringe upon fundamental individual gun ownership rights, but state's could...now, Congress can enact regulations in regards to who can own guns, hence criminals and those of unsound mental conditions are barred from owning or purchasing firearms, but as we all know, regulations don't stop illicit trade, they just slow the process.

In similar regards, Congress can regulate weaponry, and it can outlaw certain arms products from the marketplace, but even if it could effectively enforce a prohibition on all private arms production and importation, constitutionally it cannot do so while observing respect still for the right of individuals to keep and bear arms.
And, I believe that bearing arms can be regulated in public settings. But the fundamental right to own a weapon...and those rights necessary to be able to transport it and use it in a lawful manner cannot be pillaged by Congressional legislation; according to unincorporated 2nd Amendment theory, individual States could, so long as other Constitutional rights are respected.
