Very soon Kyoto Protocol will expire. Is this good or bad? Canada, Japan, and Russia will be happy. They did not want to have to meet the new ridgid enviromental regulations. China (China?), however, wants it continued. Wait did I read that right?

This is because "The Kyoto Protocol largely puts the responsibility of emission reductions on developing nations, which has earned it a favorable reputation among poorer countries. "

So what happens if it expires? The countries have the gregorious task of starting over fresh and trying again. Which will take longer.

China is the #1 polluter in the world and are not under the stringent parameters that canada and others are held accountable to. China, Russia, U.S. and India have opted out of Kioto because it would cost them JOBS, finally Canada has come to it's senses and opted out also.
