The Obama Administration began officially moving away from their promised deadline of July 2011. What does this mean? Will this be another war that never ends?

Well lets see...we still have
47,000 troops stationed in Japan and 25,000 troops in South Korea.
I found an older source that said we currently had approximately 68,000 US troops in Germany, but I can't verify that number.
So I would say the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan will eventually die down, but how long will we have troops there? Based on past history, I would guess about 65 years!!
Ha!
But if its any consolation, we don't have any in Vietnam....

Well if we didn't go into Afghanistan like Austria barrelling into Serbia, 1914.....we wouldn't be in this mess.

War never ends. We as a people just have to get sick enough of the current one for it to take a rest.
