Glenn Beck argues that if we evolved into humans from monkeys, why have we stopped evolving?  Why are there no half-monkey, half-humans walking around?  Well, Mr. Beck, evolution happens over millions and millions of years.  You are on this planet for roughly 80 or so.  Do the math.

If Glenn Beck is true to his Mormon faith, he believes in the book of Genesis, and that the earth is only 6,000 years old.

With 6,000 years there is not enough time for evolution.

Good point but evolution does NOT say we are descended from monkeys.  This is a common misconception.  Evolution states humans and apes had a common ancestor. It does NOT say we evolved from apes. I would love idiot Beck to read Richard Dawkins "The Greatest Show on Earch" but I doubt if he would even understand it.  There is positive proof of evolution and natural selection.  Those against it seem to confuse the word theory with hypothesis. Evolution is a proven theory. It is not a hypothesis. Evolution being true does not mean there is no God.  The Creationist, etc. somehow thinks evolution equals atheism.  That is not necessarily so.  The Catholic Church has accepting evolution.  It is the fundamentalist Protestants that have a problem wiht it.

Well said. It always irks me a little when people say humans evolved from monkeys. Same with the idea that saying "it's just a theory" makes someone's argument stronger. Gravity is also "just a theory."
