On November 2nd, California is voting on Proposition 19 known as, The Regulate, Control and Tax Cannabis Act of 2010. Basicially marijuana will be legalized throughout the state without a need for prescription.
The bill only needs a simple majority vote. What do you think? Does it have a chance? Should it pass?

I don't know if it will pass. But I certainly hope that it passes. I think this October 30th AlterNet article by Harvey Wasserman,
Pot Prohibition is the Cornerstone of a Police State
sums up the arguments fairly well.
"With 800,000 annual arrests over an herb used by tens of millions of Americans, it is the cornerstone of a police state."
Who is against it? "Drug dealers for one...and the prison builders and operators, plus the lawyers, judges, guards and street cops who make their livings off the human agony of this endless stream of meaningless arrests."
Also, "alcohol and tobacco pushers who don't want the competition from a recreational substance."
Also, "Big Pharma, which fears marijuana as a superior anti-depressant with healing capabilities far beyond a whole multi-billlion-dollar arsenal of prescription drugs with deadly side effects."
So who is for it? Ordinary Americans that see the cost and harm to society of criminalizing a substance that isn't anymore harmful than alcohol.

Well.....optimally......we should be promoting Vaporized Marijuana use.....that is the official El Prezidente Kaboom policy......
To be patently clear, Marijuana is a harmful and dangerous drug....period......
It's just not as harmful and dangerous as other drugs.....
But its still terrible for your lungs....and maybe worse than cigs....I know for a fact...
Hemp is the real strategic resource that I'm looking forward to unlocking...
But, Sans marijuana....the war on drugs should continue with full vigor...
Cocaine meth and heroin rob people of their free will.....they are free will inhibitors.....
.....Fight the Zombie Powers that be...
