According to the NY Times’ Political Race Profiles, California has one of the closest elections in the country. The political climate seems to be changing away from insiders and trying to get new people in office.

For those who are not up to date with the race so far, the two top runners are Jerry Brown (D) and Meg Whitman(R)

Jerry Brown has been governor before, as was his father, and he is currently the front running Democrat. He does have an advantage of running in a state that is gradually shifting to the left.

Meg Whitman is relatively new to the political scene and has spent nearly $70 million dollars of her own money to run for Governor. I believe her advantage is be new to the scene and the ridiculous amount of money she has at her disposal.

What is your take on this situation?
