Is there an argument out there against gay marriage that's not religious/faith based?

Yes, I have one. If you're still there, I'll post it.

Some friends feel that legal marriage is not necessary, that their relationship is solid without it. However they would like to be able to share health insurance.

Found this when I was searching for the answore to the same question. Two problems I have with it tho. One, it's running under the assumption that tax laws can not adapt to the changing dynamic of marriage; and two it never adresses if foster homes and orphanages are better environments for raising children then a homosexual household. Other then that I think it's a valid argument.
