Time and again I hear Republicans, especially Tea Partiers, running for Congress use the expression, "we need to take our country back."  Palin and Beck used it to kick off the "Taking Our Country Back" Tour.   Media figures on Fox News have used it again and again.

So what exactly do they mean?  Does it mean, more of the Bush tax cuts that benefit mostly the rich?  Does it mean more deficit spending because that's what the Republicans are really noted for?  Remember, Reagan tripled the debt and Bush doubled it. Does it mean more wars of choice like Iraq?  Maybe a nuke on Iran?  Does it mean more deregulation for big corporations because that's what Bush is noted for.  Does it mean scrapping or ignoring environmental laws? Does it mean electing a regular anti-intellectual guy or gal that doesn't know much about anything...e.g. Bush and Palin, instead of the intellectual Obama?

Or maybe what it really means is getting a white Christian Fundamentalist in the Whitehouse...just like Bush? Hey Sarah Palin fits that criteria.

I'm curious, but I hope that conservatives don't give me any of that nonsense about the Constitution.  It sounds good to the low information voters, but the opening words say, "We the people..." and not "We the corporation..." Republicans by their words and deeds are 100 percent for the corporations and not the real people...certainly not the unemployed or the sick or the poor...or minorities.

Also, the Constitution doesn't mention the words 'God' or 'Christian' or 'Jesus', so I hope that "taking our country back" doesn't imply making us into a Christian nation and the teaching of creationism in science classes.

So what indeed do Republicans mean when they say, "Let's get out country back?"
