Wouldn't the pledge of allegiance be more accurate and encompassing if the words "under God" were taken out?

The pledge was written in 1892.  The words "under God" were added in 1954.  So for some reason it was completely fine to keep the words out for the first 62 years.  Now, it's been 56 years with 'em.    I think we should change by the latest in 2016.  Take turns, sounds fair.
