The Republican Health Alternative: Empowering Ourselves to Death
, Jan 26, 2010
"Hidden in the cobwebby depths of the House Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor and Pensions lies the conservative answer to health care. It's a plan that would cost about $940 billion less than the House Democrats' bill, and cut deficit spending by tens of billions over the next decade, according to the Congressional Budget Office - all while keeping large employers and insurance moguls happy as clams on subsidized Prozac.
"
What's the catch? It leaves 52 million non-elderly uninsured...an improvement of ZERO percent. And employers do not have to provide health care coverge and they can still cherry pick healthy clients. And no federal funds for abortions. And of course 45,000 Americans will continue to die each year.
The conservative think tank Heritage Foundation has endorsed it.
So why aren't the media talking about this bill as an alternative to the House and Senate bills? Do all those Tea Party advocates know that this alternative bill exists and what it contains? Do Americans know and care? Or have they been so brain washed by Fox News pundits that this is OK? Out of site...out of mind.

A tradionalist republican is going to be against the health care reform on any level. They don't want the government to impede on their choice of whether or not to have health care. So even if there is an alternative, it still is against their fundamental belief that they should not be forced to pay for it.
Which is understandable. Its what they believe in,
