Reference: Media Matters, January 4, 2010: Beck's Misinformer of the Year defense rests on falsehoods

Media Matters provides a long list of documented lies and distortions by Glenn Beck in 2009. All Glenn Beck fans should read it. This guy is a phoney who makes tons of money selling hate, but to sell hate, you need to lie and distort.

I won't summarise the list. Everyone should read it in Media Matters. With this track record, Beck has little credibility, but what is even more disconcerting is the number of Americans that believe and repeat his distortions. He's getting rich playing on the ignorance of the populace. And I think that's Un-American.

The First Amendment guarantees him the right to say all these things, but other media sources and the populace needs to hold him accountable for his lies. I for one will not support firms that advertize on his show.

The thing about Glenn Beck and everyone else at FoX News is that they don't give a shit about facts. Anyone with a good story no matter how outrageously false will be welcomed at Fox News. The latest is this absolutely stupid story about the cost of Obama's trip to India and other countries. Glenn Beck fell for it and the rest of the right wing media echoed all the false taking points never once questioning the accuracy of the story or validity of the claims. Just Google it and you'll find it headlines in every right wing internet site.

They claim it is costing $200 million a day??? That's more than it is costing to fight the war in Afghanistan!!! Stupid, stupid, stupid people who dish this stuff out.

Check Media Matters. As they and FactCheck.org pointed out, the claim originated from "one Indian news agency quoting an anonymous source in Mumbai." Ha! That's good enough for Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and every other Obama hater out there to blindly run with. Anonymous sources are the best for them. No accountability for the facts. It sells. Hate sells!!!

This is not an isolated incident. It's typical of Beck and Fox News. They do it to manufacture rage and hate...they do it to make tons of money selling hate. Glenn Beck is the No. 1 hate monger at Fox News and he is making his Australian boss Rupert Murdoch and their principle Saudia Arabian stock holder (after Murdoch) rich by selling hate.

It also tells you something about the intelligence of the Fox News viewers.
